HOMO SAURUS: a freshwater alien
The full moon was reflected on the flat waters of the Po River, flowing slowly and silently in its long course. Its glow created a play of light and shadow among the riverbank vegetation, gently swayed by a light breeze. Sergio waited patiently for a fish to bite the hook. It had become a habit for him to spend a few hours of the night in that place, in the company of his thoughts and the smoke of a few cigarettes, away from traffic and the monotony of the usual bar. It seemed like a quiet night, a night like many others, but something was about to happen that would change his life forever. Suddenly, right in front of him, something emerged from the water, breaking the reflected image of the moon and rising menacingly upward.
A grim figure, a horrifying being that made the stunned Sergio jump from the stool he was sitting on. Shaken by the unusual presence and the two large yellow-red eyes staring at him, he remained still, motionless, petrified. For about twenty interminable seconds, they stood facing each other, then the strange creature turned its back, took a few steps towards the center of the river, and sank. Sergio stayed motionless for a few more minutes, just long enough to gather his thoughts and convince himself that it was not a hallucination. Then, he ran home to seek refuge within the walls of his house, leaving behind his fishing rod, stool, and all his gear. In the days that followed, he found the courage to confide in his family and a few trusted friends, but none of them took him seriously. The being's height could easily reach two and a half meters, with a robust build covered in scales, a hairless head, and webbed hands. This brief but shocking description was all he could make out in the moonlight. Sergio never returned to fish by the banks of the Po, never spoke of his experience again, and fell into a stubborn silence that grew over time. For several years now, Sergio has passed away.
But this event was not destined to remain an isolated case. Around the mid-1980s, reports of sightings of a similar being began to emerge from the Veneto and Emilia regions. The stories of the unlucky witnesses spread from person to person, filling town squares and bars, with the cause of these strange tales generally attributed to the classic and tired cliché of one too many drinks. Surely, that wine would have had to possess truly extraordinary properties to induce all its consumers to have the same startling vision. That was a product that should definitely be analyzed!
HOMO SAURUS and its characteristics
All joking aside, their testimonial accounts were regularly ignored, and the unusual presence was attributed to remnants of ancient legends, the exaggerations of some prankster, or, at best, a type of reptilian that did not follow its kind into a distant phase of extinction. The excitement generated by newspaper articles about this being that roamed around terrorizing people was nothing more than a lively alternative to everyday news. The only ones to pay a high price for such a presence, needless to say, were the unfortunate witnesses themselves. However, reports were increasing, as were the number of people who cautiously came forward, admitting they had seen the being, in different and often distant locations, but always near rivers or canals. The case was undoubtedly interesting but extremely vague and confusing. It was necessary to deepen the research and shed light on the phenomenon, to bring it to a more rational level and restore credibility to those who, in good faith, shared their experiences but were regularly ridiculed, labeled as delusional or hallucinatory.
Professor Sebastiano Di Gennaro took on this task, stepping in with a technical-scientific team from USAC and tracking what he himself would later name HOMO SAURUS. Professor Sebastiano Di Gennaro is the director of USAC (Academic Center for Ufological Studies), which he founded in 1978 in Santa Maria Maddalena, ROVIGO, where it still has its permanent headquarters. In 1986, he began his research, which lasted nearly two decades and during which he collected numerous testimonies, artifacts, plaster casts of footprints, conducted scientific and environmental analyses, and carried out extensive investigations.
The collected testimonies, the morphology of the footprints, and cross-referenced data from various cases have provided a fairly precise estimate of the physical attributes and characteristics of the HOMO SAURUS. The results indicate a height that exceeds two meters, reaching up to two and a half meters. The hands, which have four fingers, are webbed, making them suitable for swimming. The feet have three widely clawed toes and, in some cases, are also webbed. The footprints show that the clawed toes often pierce the ground on which they rest. Its gait is slightly unsteady, and the widely spaced steps confirm its considerable size. The cranial structure is highly developed, indicating a brain volume greater than that of humans and many mammals. The eye sockets are very large, and the vertical pupil stands out against a yellowish or yellow-reddish cornea. The snout is elongated, and the nostrils are composed of two small openings. The mouth protrudes and is equipped with rows of small, sharp teeth, suited for both carnivorous and herbivorous diets. There are no noticeable external cartilaginous ears, and the neck is thin and protruding. The entire body is hairless, including the head, and is covered with greenish scales similar to those of lizards and some snakes. (figure 1) At this point, it is quite understandable the emotional state experienced by those unfortunate enough to encounter such a being.
Alien vestige?
At the end of winter in 1988, a collaborator of USAC, while walking along a sandy section of the Po River embankment in the province of Ferrara, stumbled upon a fleshy substance spread across about a hundred meters on the ground. The appearance suggested remnants of a large reptile. The scales, some of which were quite large, covered the gelatinous-looking fleshy mass. The substance had rather curious characteristics and, moreover, showed no signs of fermentation. (photo 5) Some samples of the substance were then delivered by Professor Di Gennaro to the Institute of Zoology at the University of Ferrara for analysis. The response from the technicians at the Institute, which was far from convincing, stated that the specimen could not be sliced with a microtome (an instrument that allows extremely thin sections of an organic product to be cut), and therefore could not be subjected to microscopic analysis. The reason cited was the synthetic origin of the material. I won’t go into detail about the entire process that the substance underwent, but I want to add that during this process, some rather striking details emerged. Other laboratories were contacted to analyze the product, but they requested fees that were unsustainable at the time. Meanwhile, Professor Sebastiano Di Gennaro, who holds a degree in organic chemistry and teaches scientific subjects, decided to personally conduct some experiments, relying on his scientific expertise and with the help of his friend Angelo Fiacchi, an inventor, naturalist, and expert in various fields. They began conducting various analyses and experiments on the strange substance. One result, in particular, stood out. When some samples of the scaly substance were subjected to high temperatures, they dehydrated and turned a greenish color. When exposed to a blue flame, it emitted a strong odor of burning keratin. This raised an important question: how could a substance like keratin, which is a protein that makes up hair, fur, nails, and bird feathers, compose a synthetic material as claimed by the technicians at the Institute of Zoology at the University of Ferrara? Clearly, something did not add up.
Long after, an acquaintance of Di Gennaro confided to him that some samples of the substance had been retained by the Institute of Ferrara and were undergoing in-depth analysis without anyone's knowledge, not even the professor’s. The results were never made public. Only a partial report reached the hands of the Director, who, in exchange, had to promise not to reveal the identity of the source and was assured that he would eventually receive the complete results. However, no response was given about the highly instrumental tests to which the substance was subjected. Nonetheless, within the lines of the document, there were extremely interesting points that prompted reasonable reflection. One stated: There are formations that at first glance appear to be overlapping scales, reptilian in shape. Upon closer analysis, no actual scales exist but rather protrusions that mimic their shape. Another point noted: The material, when subjected to a Bunsen burner, carbonizes and emits an odor of burning keratin. When placed in an oven at 50°C, it dehydrates, becomes firm, and takes on a brownish color. When re-immersed in water, it becomes elastic while maintaining the acquired color.
Following these events, it seemed that the long-awaited moment had arrived. The right person, who knew the right people, had appeared. Finally, the answers he so desperately sought would be within reach, unraveling the mystery of such a special and seemingly impossible substance. But, as happens in the most classic stories, the last samples of this extraordinary substance were lost forever.
I conclude this topic by saying that, ultimately, that mysterious substance was taken through deceit, aided by a significant degree of naivety on the part of USAC, likely unaware of the immense scientific value that the substance could have held. If the substance had indeed possessed the characteristics observed during the experiments—a mixed composition of synthetic material and a protein such as keratin—then the experience of an elderly woman in the spring of 1985 in Varazze (SV) would not only take on a truly shocking aspect but also open up a new perspective on the alien reality.
One afternoon that spring, the woman recounted, three people—two men and a woman—were about to enter a small villa located near her home. The villa belonged to a couple from Milan who mainly used it for their summer holidays. The fact that they had the house keys aroused her suspicion, as, to her knowledge, only she was supposed to have a set of keys, having been entrusted by the owners to check inside from time to time to ensure everything was in order. Also intrigued by the furtive behavior of the three, she crossed the garden and peeked through the shutters of the window, which had just been left ajar. Her blood froze in her veins as she witnessed the scene unfolding. The three figures were completely naked, appearing perfectly human at first, but the terrifying moment came when they began tearing off their skin, revealing themselves as large scaly lizards. Their faces were elongated, their eyes very long, and their noses resembled a protrusion with two small holes at the center. They had no earlobes and were completely hairless. The female, turned with her back facing the woman, had no buttocks; instead, there was a tail attached to her waist that vaguely resembled buttocks. After witnessing the scene, the woman withdrew, terrified of being seen. She did not speak of it to anyone out of fear of being discovered and of any potential reaction from those beings. However, a few days later, she had to confide in her husband, who was concerned about her unusual behavior, and to the local priest, to whom she disclosed what she had seen.
The first did not believe her, which only deepened the depression into which the woman had already fallen. The second scolded her, advising her to attend the parish and religious services more often.
The likelihood that the presence of HOMO SAURUS was linked to the UFO phenomenon gained traction from the very beginning. The extraterrestrial hypothesis of HOMO SAURUS found support in the testimonies of people who claimed to have seen unidentified flying objects in areas where the alien later appeared, as well as in reports of nocturnal glows that illuminated sections of wooded areas for some time, where circular (drawing 2 and photo 6) or, in other cases, quadrangular (drawing 3 and photo 7) traces were subsequently discovered—concrete evidence that something unidentified had landed there.
With the book "HOMO SAURUS, an Alien Creature is Inhabiting Our World," Professor Sebastiano Di Gennaro skillfully moved the eerie and mythological figure of the reptilian from the realm of fantasy, where it had initially been placed, to a strictly real context. The result of nearly two decades of relentless research, the book chronicles, step by step, all phases of the thrilling journey that began in 1986, detailing all findings with the utmost scientific rigor. The comprehensive and meticulous investigations supported by testimonies and environmental analyses, the cross-referenced comparisons, and the numerous photos and illustrations contained within make this volume an unparalleled work in the field of ufology and beyond.
In recent times, sightings of HOMO SAURUS have drastically ceased, except for a few doubtful reports that still need to be investigated by USAC's technical-scientific section. I believe that this being, undoubtedly possessing significant intelligence, has long taken into account the relentless pollution, the environmental degradation, the increasingly low water levels in our rivers, and the prospect of a worsening situation. It may have consciously decided to move on and seek out other areas—or rather, other courses.
At this point, we might feel more at ease, as the alien has not been heard from in quite some time, but...
An unsettling prospect
The danger posed by HOMO SAURUS, in terms of violence against humans, has never been proven or witnessed, at least in the environment where it moves and lives. However, if we take into account the recent revelations made by some researchers who use hypnosis as a method to extract all the details of a presumed abduction from abductees, the narrative changes. Testimonies that have emerged through this method indeed confirm the presence of a being with the same characteristics, working alongside the classic gray aliens or EBEs (extraterrestrial biological entities), as well as individuals in strictly military uniforms. The concerning fact is that within the group, these reptilians display clear commanding attitudes. It now remains to be understood whether this is the same species. If this were confirmed, the matter would take on truly troubling implications. It is already known that those abducted by aliens are subjected to all sorts of experiments and analyses and that once in their hands, it is very difficult to escape.
HOMO SAURUS has never harmed the unfortunate people who encountered it along the canal banks; none of them have ever reported such an incident. However, if we find it in an "analysis laboratory" with clear alien roots, in the company of EBEs and military personnel, well, then there is a problem. As if there weren’t already enough. The one directing the show, the brain of the group, is indeed him, while the rest are just workers, the labor force. On one hand, he amuses himself by playing tricks on unsuspecting fishermen, using his less-than-angelic appearance solely to frighten them and keep them away from his habitat. On the other hand, in a different setting, he is the most invested in the ongoing operations, using human subjects as test subjects, exactly the same way we treat laboratory animals. The fact is, the roles are simply reversed, and in this context, the laboratory animals are humans. Evidently, in the name of science, everything is allowed—for us in our science and for him in theirs. In the end, it doesn’t really matter which side you are on; the concept remains the same, as it always involves test subjects.
Those who have encountered HOMO SAURUS can hardly consider themselves lucky due to the psychological aftermath they endure, nor are they privileged for having seen something that most people have never seen and never will. Yet, they are the only ones able to testify to the existence of a reality that lies completely beyond our knowledge.
