Introduction

Hello again. You may not care but yes I am still a bit busy in meatspace. It is getting better though and this issue is a small indication of that. I've finally put together the music section I've been planning, yay! Oh and we seem to have a little accidental recipe theme going on in the hidden gems section ^-^.

Ben Collver's Capsule and MOAR

Ben's capsule has tons of goodies to discover. Plenty of things to read that Ben has written as well as links to other places with a lot of reading material. There are some programming projects and the capsule is home to MOAR (Massive Online Archive of Recipes).

hyperreal's capsule

hyperreal is a bit of a fan of coffee which you might have been able to deduce from their choice of domain. They are also interested in a slew of other topics and the capsule is home to a gemlog, a couple recipes and links to various interesting resources.

Remy Noulin's Homepage

Remy's capsule has a glog with a lot of good posts stretching back a couple of years. If you like finding recipes in geminispace then you are in for a treat because this capsule has a ton!

This young capsule comes recommened by ew (thanks for the tip!). While it doesn't have a lot of content yet the gemlog is off to a very nice start.

Hyperlink Your Heart

Lots of different topics are covered in the gemlog and this capsule is also home to a project called Gemican which is an effort to adapt the Pelican static site generator to output gemtext.

Gemini Music Special

Over my time hanging out in geminispace the musicality of geminauts has jumped out at me. I kept coming across capsules with original music. I'm sure this is not an exhaustive list and I welcome suggestions for a part 2 if you know of any that I didn't include. P.S. If you've only recently read smolZINE there was a mini music article in Issue 19 with a couple other capsule's featuring original music.

KONPEITO

KONPEITO is a series of gemini exclusive mixtapes. The project has recently concluded with the final mixtape being released just a couple weeks ago. If you haven't listened to them go there now. Seriously, they are excellent. Oh and make sure you download them ASAP as the capsule will be up for a while longer but may go away eventually.

Stafetten

This lovely art and music collab was sent to me by one of the artists themselves and it is really great. Thanks for sharing Johan.

Stafetten was a collaboration art and music project by artist Natalia Chuvashova and Islandery (Johan Egneblad). The project spanned over three years, 2018 to 2020, and the idea was a kind of whispering game where each work would inspire the next. Visual pieces would alternate with musical pieces until there was seven of each, and we'd see where we'd end up.

Flavigula

I am in no way qualified to make accurate assessments of musical styles. The creator describes Flavigula as experimental and I would say that is accurate. These experimental sounds are available on thurk.org's own Funkwhale instance for easy listening.

A composer and songwriter that has one piece available on their capsule so far but it's good so hopefully we'll see some more. They also have some sheet music available that they composed and is creative commons licensed CC-BY 4.0.
