The Missing Heir

After the opening scene, enter the hotel.
Go to the reception desk and take the key to wind up the small automaton at the desk, then press the red button.
Talk to the hotel concierge.
Go and talk to the boy (Momo) sitting to the left.
Return to the concierge. You will learn about the death of Anna Voralberg, the woman who was supposed to sign the contract for the sale of the automaton factory.
Ask the concierge to help you with your luggage and go up to your room.
Go to the nightstand next to the bed and read Fax No. 1, noting down Marson's (your boss) phone number: 12458902. Use your cell phone to call him.
Go downstairs and talk to the concierge again, and finally ask for Fax No. 2.
Go to where Momo was sitting and pick up the four gears: two on the table, two on the floor.
Exit the hotel and head left down the grand avenue.
Along the way, talk to the baker.
Further ahead, take the newspaper from the bench and go up the steps to the door behind it.
Next to the door is an automaton. Use the lever on its chest, then place Fax No. 2 in its hand and use the left lever.
Enter the notary's office and talk to him. Afterward, exit the office and take the "telescopic key" from the coat rack.
Leave the office and head to the Voralberg factory by going right.
The entrance to the factory is along the wall that runs alongside the avenue on the right.
To open the door mechanism, wind up the automaton key on the lower automaton, place the telescopic key on the arms of the upper automaton, then lower the central lever.
Enter and proceed to the fountain. Here, you have four directions, from left to right:

  • The automaton factory
  • The power center
  • The station
  • The Voralberg house

Momo’s Secret

For now, you can't do anything useful in the other locations except explore them, so go to the Voralberg house.
Walk around the house: all the doors are locked.
Behind the house, there is a long telescopic ladder, but the key to operate it is missing.
Continue exploring until you find a gardener. Talk to her, then enter the maze.
In the first entrance on the right, you will find the key in the fountain basin.
Return to the ladder and use the key, then climb up and enter the attic.
Look around.
From the school desk, take the ink and Anna’s diary. Read it to learn more about Hans's story.
To the right of the room, there’s a dark corner, but if you search the upper part, you can find a lightbulb.
At this point, Momo appears and won’t help you unless you draw a mammoth. He gives you a sheet of paper and a pencil.
Return to the dark corner and use the sheet and pencil on the mammoth graffiti on the wooden plank to the right.
Now talk to Momo, who will reveal a secret to you.
Follow him through the town, past the baker, and enter the gate with him.
Move forward until you find him again. Talk to him, and he will tell you about a cave.
Move forward to the dam and try to open it.
Return to Momo and ask for his help, but he will only manage to break the lever.
Pick up the wooden stick and return to the boat you passed earlier. Use the stick to try and retrieve the oar and call Momo to get it, then ask him to open the dam.
Now the river is dry.
Go to where Momo was waiting and head north, reaching the riverbank; cross it and enter the cave.
Here, you can pick up the mammoth doll from the ground.
Return to the Voralberg factory.
Take the second path from the left to reach the power center and pull the lever.

Oscar’s Legs

Go back and take the first path on the left, enter the factory, and explore to familiarize yourself with the various locations.
On the right is the assembly line, and at the end of it is a door leading to the power production center powered by a large waterwheel, which, however, isn’t working.
On the left, by going up the stairs, you have access to the administrative office, and by climbing more steps on the right, you reach the assembly line control panel.
On the left, without going up the stairs, you reach a warehouse with an automatic transport cart. The door at the back leads to a workshop where an automaton is suspended in mid-air by a machine.
Start in this location by activating the lever that lowers the automaton (Oscar) and talk to him, but to learn more, you need to build him legs. He will give you a punched card for this purpose.
When you exit, activate the transport cart, which will bring a barrel of paint to the assembly line.
Go to the power room, pull the chain on the right (similar to an old toilet chain), and the wheel will start turning; pull the left lever, then exit and go to the office.
Go to the bookcase on the right and take the only volume that can be taken, revealing a secret compartment. Take the phonograph cylinder.
Go to the desk and read the documents.
Exit and go left to the control panel. Insert the punched card and pull the last lever on the right, with the red light. Use the left lever to choose the color, a beige, then pull the right lever.
Go down to the assembly line by heading to the bottom right of the screen and collect the legs. Bring them to Oscar, who will tell you if they are the correct ones. If not, you must repeat the process, changing the color until you find the right ones.
Go to the locomotive with Oscar.

Ready to Depart?

Enter the locomotive and talk to Oscar, who, quite rightly, thinks like a computer.
To get the ticket, go to the ticket office. Oscar is there again and will give you the ticket and an authorization letter to move the train. Return to the train, and Oscar will tell you that the letter needs the notary's authorization.
Go to the notary, and in the antechamber, use the folder to place the authorization letter, use the ink on top of the stamp, then stamp the document by pressing the red button.
Exit and go right, walking down the avenue until you reach the church. Walk around it to the right, and along the wall, you will see an elevator operated by a mechanism. Walk past it and go to the end, enter the door, go to the crucifix hanging on the wall in front of you, and move it to take a key.
Go to the chest of drawers on the left and use the key on the lock located in the top right corner of the furniture.
Open all the drawers and take four punched cards. Pull the middle drawer and activate the mechanism on the right side of the furniture. Take the Voralberg key.
Go to the elevator and apply the four gears to the mechanism, then pull the lever and go up.
In the mechanism you find, insert the "purple" card to ring the death knell.
Go back down, head to the front of the church, and then to the right, to the family chapel.
Insert the Voralberg key into the automaton’s cylinder and enter. Go to Hans’s tomb, open the coffin, take the newspaper, and a cylinder.
Return to the factory, to the office, and insert the second cylinder into the phonograph. You will witness the scene of Hans’s accident.
At the end, take the cylinder and the two music box dolls.
Go to the train and enter the next car, where you must place the items: the two cylinders on the shelves on the left, the music box on the pillar in the center, and the mammoth doll on the console on the right.
Go to Oscar, give him the ticket and the signed permit.
Ready to depart? Not yet.
The train runs on a spring mechanism, and the spring is unwound.
Exit the train on the right and continue down until you find a mechanism. Turn the wheel to extend the long key, then pull the lever, and the train is wound up.
Finally, you can depart.

Charging the Train

Talk to Oscar: the train's spring is unwound, and you can’t proceed.
Explore the station—it’s worth it.
If you go down to the left and continue along the canal, you’ll reach a wall with a mechanism that might be used to wind up the train, but the locomotive needs to be moved there first.
Return to the train, and Oscar will give you a message from the university rectors who want to speak with you.
While exploring the station (an immense aviary), you will meet the stationmaster. Talk to him about everything to receive valuable information.
Also, talk to the Russians on the barge, husband and wife, and ask for their help. The conditions for towing the locomotive are twofold: open the lock and pay 100 dollars.

Exit and head towards the university. In the center of the square is the music kiosk. Walk around it, and you’ll see a mechanism that strongly resembles Voralberg’s; to unlock it, you need an egg.
Enter the university.

Go to the far left and enter the door. Talk to the three rectors: to get the 100 dollars, you need to fix the music mechanism.
Exit, return to the atrium, and continue to the right, where you will meet Pons, a professor of paleontology. Talk to him, and he will tell you that he knew Hans.

Return to the left and enter the first large door you find, the library.
On the table in the lower right, take the book "Memories of an Expedition in Amerzone."
Climb the stairs to the right and use the ladder to take another book: "Plants and Fungi."

Return to the train and take the mammoth doll to give to Professor Pons.

Return to the university atrium and give the mammoth doll to the professor, who will go to his lab to study it.
From the cabinet to the right of the door, take another cylinder. From the first desk in the lower right, take a test tube holder and a bottle of "Yangala-Cola" powder.
Talk to the professor again, then return to the station to talk to the stationmaster, and when you mention "Sauvignon," he will leave very annoyed.

Go to the train and listen to the third cylinder in the phonograph under the pillar with the music box.
Return to the stationmaster and talk to him again about Sauvignon, and he will tell you to ask Professor Pons.

Go to Pons and talk to him. He will tell you to ask the rectors. Go to the rectors and talk to them.
They will tell you that there is a smuggling operation involving Sauvignon, so there must be a vineyard somewhere.

Return to the station and talk to the stationmaster again, still about Sauvignon. He will lead you to the garden. At the back of the garden, take some "Sauvignon Berries."

Go to the ladder. The Amerzone cuckoos block your path: give them the berries and climb up.
Take the egg with the test tube holder, go down, and head to the music kiosk.
On the bridge, the gardener, to apologize, will give you a bottle of wine.
At the music kiosk, place the egg on the right side of the mechanism’s balance.
Enter, go down, and pull the lever.
Go to the rectors and talk about money and the rest. You will receive the promised 100 dollars.

Go to the barge and give the 100 dollars to the captain, who will give you the key to activate the lock control panel. Take it and head to the control panel, insert the key, and observe the numbers on the right.
Dial the phone number provided (27666742).
The instructions to open the lock are:

- 4 - 1 - 2 - *42*

The lock opens, and the water level drops.
After the barge has passed, dial: 41* to raise the lock again.
Go to the dock and talk to the captain. He will throw you a chain, to which you must attach the hook in your inventory. Now the train is in position.

Professor Pons informs you that he will be giving a lecture on mammoths. Go to the university and climb the stairs to reach the lecture hall, attend the class, then go down to the lab, retrieve the mammoth and the course materials from the professor’s desk.

Return to the train, enter the car, and place the mammoth on the console, then exit on the other side, go to the end, and wind it up by first turning the wheel and then pulling the lever. Talk to Oscar, and the train moves forward to the wall.
Go down to the left and head to the ticket office. The usual story: you need authorization to pass.
Walk around the ticket office and go to the door at the top. Enter the control cabin and talk to the captain. Observe the lenses and glasses on the table. Look through the telescope and focus: what the captain thinks is a hussar is just a log. Use the bottle of wine with the glasses, add the Yangala-Cola powder, and have the captain drink it, then invite him to look through the telescope. At this point, he will give you permission.
Return to the ticket office and give the permit to Oscar, who will give you the ticket. Go to the car and give the ticket to Oscar. You’re ready to depart.

At the Station

Get off the train and go left. Oscar will tell you that the train's spring is unwound again.
As you arrived, you saw a gigantic statue of the "Soviet Worker" that spans the train. Head that way and climb the ladder.
On the shelf, take a cylinder, a drawing of the giant, and a lever.
Go to the panel nearby, insert the lever, and move the bridge forward twice. Press the red button to recharge the train. Go back twice and go down. As you head to the train, you see a thief escaping from the locomotive.
Enter your car and free Oscar, then talk to him. Pick up the wire cutters from the ground, return to the bridge, and climb up. Move it forward once, then exit and jump onto the platform.
Use the wire cutters to open the passage. Take a candle from the shelves on the left and return to the bridge. Move it back and go down.

The Mine

Go to the end of the dock and call the elevator. Go down and place the candle on the generator to get the lights on.
Proceed until you find yourself in a large room full of machinery, then go right and highlight a panel at the base of a ladder.
Go back the way you came and go right until you find an organ-playing automaton. Take the screwdriver from the organ and return to the panel to unscrew it.
Climb up and enter the hatch on the right. Talk to Borodine, the center director, and the thief.
After the conversation, go to the museum, open the drawer, and take the book and letters.
Use your cell phone to call your mother and ask her about Helena Romansky.
Return to Borodine and talk about Aralbad and everything else.
Exit and enter the monorail right in front of you.

The Launch Base

Climb the stairs. To the left are more stairs leading to the eagle’s cage. Go right and enter the capsule.
Talk to the commander, but he’s too drunk.
Pick up the vodka bottle from the ground.
After the commander leaves, explore the capsule and take the key and a letter, then exit.
Go to the control panel in front of you, insert the key, and maneuver the levers so that the cart with the commander comes in front of you and then to the end.
Get off the platform, and right at the corner, you’ll find a wheel to turn on the water. Return to the panel and pull the lever that opens the water hatch.
When the commander wakes up, talk to him about everything, then go right to explore the launch base.
If you go right and then up the stairs, you’ll find the dirigible, but you can’t enter it.
To the left, going up the stairs, you reach a control room for launching the missiles.
Take the key from the control panel and insert it, then open the small hatch on the right and connect the two cables.
The machine asks for a blood test to operate; on the right, take the blood analysis kit.
Return to the commander and talk to him until you get the dirigible key. Go to the dirigible, open the door, and pull the lever, but it doesn’t work.
Go back to the commander, who is now near the launch ramp, and make a deal with him: he will tell you how to use the dirigible if you help him launch into space.
Ask him to take the blood test, return to the control room, and insert the kit in its place. No good, too much alcohol. So, use your blood and activate the missile launch by pressing the last button.
After the missile is launched, go down and collect the key that the commander throws to you.

Go to where you previously saw the eagle in captivity, insert the key into the mechanism to free it, and it will clear the dirigible of all the birds.
Go to the dirigible and depart.

Aralbad

Aralbad

Enter the hotel and talk to the concierge, but he won’t be of much help.
Cross the hall and try to pass through the gate, but it’s locked. Enter the storeroom on the left, take the bottle of soap, exit, and use it on the fountain.
Take the Kronsky hotel brochure, open it, and you’ll find the phone number for the Meuritz hotel in Paris.
When the concierge leaves, go behind the reception desk, look at the register, and note that Helena has keycard 1270.
Press the red button to open the gate leading to the spa.

The Spa

Enter the left entrance and talk to James, Helena’s automaton nurse. He will tell you that his mistress is in the gazebo on the pier.
Try to exit through the door on the right, but, no luck, it’s locked. Enter the keycard number 1270, but it doesn’t open. However, this number opens a locker you’ll find as you continue down the corridor, and when you reach the pool, on the right. Here, you can pick up a card.
On your way back, go down the corridor to the end and take a glass, then return to the door.
Enter the keycard code 0968, pull the lever, and go through. Take the gas mask and proceed along the pier.
Talk to Helena about everything. Finally, near the gazebo, take the bell. On your way back, before you reach the door, insert the bell into the other holder and ring it. Go to James and talk to him.
When Helena arrives at the bar, talk to her.
You need the cocktail recipe. Use your cell phone to call the number on the brochure 46433643.
Open the cabinet under the bar and take the honey and lemon.
Return to the pool, walk around it until you see two men bathing. Go to the farther tub and activate the water heating. Use the honey with the water and return to the bar.
Place the vodka, honey, and lemon in their respective holders.
Take the small piece of paper between the bottles, which shows you how the machine works.
To the right is a lever that switches from bass clef (left position) to treble clef (right position).
There are buttons and a keyboard. The sequence goes from left to right:

  • First button on the left: turn on the machine.
  • Bass clef: press the second key.
  • Treble clef: press the third key.
  • Press the fifth button.
  • Press the fourth button.
  • Press the second button.
  • Press the last button on the right.

After talking to Helena, place the glass on the counter and ask her to sing again.
Go to the dirigible and depart.

Komkolzgrad

Free Helena by using the wire cutters on the padlock. Enter the cage, go to the organist, and use the screwdriver to unscrew his hands.
Head to the mine. On the left, there is a large door with a lever. Activate it.
When Helena has left, go to the mine. After the explosion, exit through the vent, and once outside, examine one of the open crates. Take the time bomb.
Go talk to Oscar at the locomotive, then get on the car and talk to Helena. The train stops. Go talk to Oscar again, then head toward the "Soviet Worker" and place a bomb at its base.

Aralbad

Exit and go wind up the locomotive’s spring, then talk to Oscar.
After the porter’s intervention, go to the hotel reception desk and take the item from the package.
Go to the bar to talk to Helena.
Head out to the pier and talk to Hans.
Now, finally, the surprise ending.
