This is the vault at the end of the world where almost all the seeds existing on the planet are stored. It is located in the Svalbard archipelago, Norway, about 1300 km from the North Pole. Inaugurated in 2008, this underground storage facility is designed to preserve 4.5 million crop seeds from around the world, providing a secure safeguard against the loss of genetic biodiversity due to natural disasters, conflicts, or climate change.
