The compiler is in beta test now. Object Vision is shipping I think.

Borland is certainly not ignoring OS/2. Philippe Kahn will be speaking to
Australian developers at the OS/2 Developers Conference here in Australia
in late August.

So it was not a bug in my driver! :-))

I've always tread wearily when running Windows apps under OS/2 2.0.
This means that I'd shut down dos and os/2 apps before starting
WinOS2, and visa versa. If I didn't, the system had a fair
chance of locking up when I returned to the PM desktop. About
2/3 of the icons would be drawn, then it would stop. A hard-boot
was required to recover.

The system: 20MHz 386SX, AMI bios, 8MB RAM, 210MB IDE drive,
Swan Tseng 4000 SVGA using Orchid 0.9 800x600 drivers.

Almost a week ago I installed the fixes in BLKICO.ZOO. Since
that time, I've frequently had dos and OS/2 apps running
simultaneously with a full-screen WinOS2 session. Switching
between sessions (so far) hasn't crashed the system.

So, even if you haven't had the "black icon" problem, this
fix is worth trying if you've experienced the same problems.

The display seems much more snappy with the blakc icon fix. Also,
maybe I'm just imagining this, but the HPFS patch I installed has
improved disk access by quite a bit. I can now actually open a window
without hearing my hard disk [HPFS with 512K cache].

I think you will need to create a Virtual Booted Real DOS box, run the MS-Net
software (DOS) in that box, start up WINOS2, and make sure that WINOS2's
network is set to LAN Man. Then the Windows Network stuff should work.
