As you all now, voters can give not more than 20 points for several games.
Some weeks ago I got a message from someone who gave 22 points to his
favourite games and -2 to a game he disliked. Unfortunately (for him) this
trick didn't work. My scanner doesn't recognize the minus sign, so the
game he disliked would have got 2 points instead, quite the opposite of
what he wanted. Since he would have been at a total of 24 points then, the
program would have stripped 4 points in a random way.
This amusing incident was in line with an idea I already had: allowing
people to vote for games that they don't like, with negative points. Last
week I got another message from someone asking for this possibility. Now I
want to know how other readers think about it. Do you want to be able to
bring games down in the chart, or do you think we shouldn't do this? Don't
expect it to be implemented soon, even if you all think it's worth a try.
I haven't considered the coding aspects of it. Just want to check the
opinions first.
