Last week I asked if the readers would like to be able to vote with
negative points for the games they dislike. I got many reactions. I haven't
counted them, but I think that around two third of the response was a big
no to this suggestion, with very convincing arguements. The most important
reasons for not allowing people to vote against games were these:
- Some may vote against a game just because they don't like the category
(the type) of the game.
- Some may vote against a game just because it's one place above their
favourite game.
- Some may vote against a game just because they hate the publisher.
We don't consider these valid reasons to vote against games. The chance of
people abusing their right to vote negative seems too big. There were more
reasons mentioned in the replies I got. They were all very convincing, so I
will not implement the possibility to vote against games, as suggested by
some of my readers. Sorry guys.
