**Terrarium**

In 1960, Englishman David Latimer decided to experiment with a small garden inside a glass bottle. Since then, this portable garden has remained green and vibrant, completely sealed in the bottle. An intriguing fact is that the last time Latimer watered his garden was in 1972.

The plant produces energy from sunlight through photosynthesis, absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen inside the bottle. When parts of the plant decay, the microbes present in the soil consume the oxygen to decompose these remnants, emitting carbon dioxide and thus completing the cycle.

The water cycle is self-sustaining in a similar way: the water absorbed by the plant's roots is released by the leaves, condenses inside the bottle, and falls back to the soil. The bottle acts as a miniature version of what happens on a global scale.
