In regards to yourquestion about graphics and Doom, I suggest
you use Wintex and paint Shop Pro 3.11. Very nice. Also, I
think deluxe paint ii is good for certain effects (Id uses
Deluxe Paint).

I have the PP but don't know the version. I checked the RGB, CMYK or
PALETTE stuff, but can't see what could cause the problem. The frame
doesn't change, I mearly change the color. The format I'm using out of
NWT is .GIF (I've tried .PCX too), but however PP is saving it isn't
compatible with DOOM (ie. DOOM crashes hard...) And the colors are
distorted through viewing them in NWT.
I need to know what format it needs to be saved under, including all
types (RGB, etc...) to maintain the graphic format. Do I need to save it
in PP4 and find a convertor from that to .GIF?

Here's a suggestion: Name it something that isn't
copywrited yet, be original. The only DOOM3 I'll dl/buy is the
one (if it ever comes) by the people responsible for the
original DOOM and DOOM2, that's id.

Once again I suggest you try Wintex 4.1 but if you insist I would save it as
a bmp(windows bitmap) and make sure it is pallette color. If you are trying
to change the color of a graphic through the use of one of PP's filters or
effects these are the correct steps involved.
1. modify your picture. The background will also turn some strange color.
2. mask the image then invert the mask.
3. Create object from mask.
4. Copy object to the clipboard.
5. reopen the original image
6. paste the new one with modified colors over the old one wit the cyan
background.
7. combine all objects with base and your done!

I hate to say this, but all of that sounds like the wad would be bigger
than the doom2 wad itself, plus dehacked patches, etc, it might be more
trouble than it's worth, even if the levels kick ass.

Actually, to edit all of my doom gifs or pcx's, i use aldus photostyler, and it
works fine for me. And I think the cyan background might go bye bye because you
need to specify that you want the cyan background in NWT's configuration..all the
gifs I export have the cyan background. I tink u hit alt-c to configure it, i'm
not sure, it says ALT-XX Config or something, and select CYAN for the background
color. That should fix it.

Do you need any levels? My freind my a kick ass one that he'd let

This might not be a bad idea. But before any maps are built I will release
monster info (new height, width, attack descriptions and other stats) and
all the new textures that I want to use For this theme. Right now I want
suggestions on new monsters and weapons mainly.

I would like to clear up something. Obviously I can't use the name DoomIII
or any likeness of Doom ect. I am not trying to sell anything (unless ID
wants it) or rip anybody off!
I am working on a unnamed project that will have the doom feel using the
doomII engine (like every one else here) but will have lots of new/modified
stuff that goes along with the doom theme!
I don't have a name for it yet because it is under heavy constuction and I
don't know what to call it right now. So if everyone can quit telling me
what I already know, how about some constructive Ideas?
