Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can get this type of
info? Namely rumours about Quake/Quake info/Quake anything???

Thanks in advance

Subject: Sky textures

Hi all,

I've been busy making my own Doom2-level. But until now I haven't
succeeded in changing the sky texture. There seems to be only one:
f_sky1, if I'm not mistaken. However, if you take a look at level 12,
for instance, you can see another texture. Inspecting map12 shows
that the alternative sky-texture is created by sort of a bug... I
realy can't tell. Can someone please explain how to change the sky
texture?

Real easy: change the texture named SKY1 or RSKY1.
F_SKY is not a texture, it's a fake ceiling that tells
'please display the sky instead'.
changing it is of no used.

SKY2 or RSKY2

Get WinTex 4.0, it will tell you what is a sky texture
and what is not.

Olivier, author of WinTex, the best tool ever
(err... well, I wish it was, indeed).

Enough lurking for a while.

Ok, this has been covered, and recovered, and discussed some more.
But people still havent' gotten it, so I must infringe..

You cannot alter the f_sky1 texture itself. f_sky is dependant on textures
SKY1, 2, and 3 in the wad. The f_sky keyword is only a signal to the engine,
that, yes we should display the SKYx texture depending on your episode (for
Doom 1)(or where you are numerically in the levels in Doom2)

Change the SKYx textures to change the background picture, not f_sky

Question : is there a newer version of Linux DEU (than the one on
ftp.cdrom.com) that supports the <alt> (oops sorry, *meta*) and shift keys?
I've become dependant on their short-cuts in DOS and would like to use them
again ...

Thanks

Sorry for posting to this list but does anyone know the address of the
Quake mailing list?
