No, it seems to be different, because Deathmatch-starts are not sector
specific. There is no need for a tag-reference or something. We just
tried some ideas here and I was kinda surprised:
I put 4 DM-starts in the level and on three of them a Zombieman. Then
we tried to play it with 2 player deathmatch. I started in the first one
and my brother was 'born' in one of the others. He couldn't move, just
turn around etc. BUT the Zombieman was running around shooting at him...!
No fragging. A shot, the Zombieman died quickly :) and my brother was 'free'.
Strange ugh? Why didn't he splatter the bad guy?
However, I never saw such a thing again while IN the game.
And we NEVER fragged ourselfs with respawning in Deathmatch.
Sadly (?), it is impossible to create a scene where you HAVE to frag a player.
4 DM-starts are required and 4 players are maximum. This 'would' be possible
if you could do 3 starting points, but Doom (2) breaks if you try that.

If we are speaking about bugs - is it okay that one sector-type will
kill you even in IDDQD-God-Mode? It's real, I never noticed that before
and was very surprised! ;)

That's correct, but this also workes only in DOOM/E1M8. The same
for the triggers in DOOM2/MAP07 - just make a tiny pwad to check
this out! If you want to do such thing you must make your level
E1M8 (in DOOM) or MAP07 (in DOOM2).

It is very possible to create such a scene. Put four DM start spots
right next to each other in a square, like this:
XX
XX
As close as possible without having them overlap. Then start a normal
deathmatch game. Have one player stand right in the middle of all four
start spots, so that he overlaps them all. Then have another player
commit suicide... BAM. The player is now dead, and needs to respawn,
while Player 1 is standing on all 4 spots simultaneously. What happens?

They probably did this so you would HAVE to exit E1M8. If you go in there
and use IDBEHOLDV, Invuln will be yours, and you don't die. This was
inntentional I assume.
