This message contains information about the new wad projct.
If you have seen enough of this nonsense already feel free to
disregard this message.

I hereby CLOSE the thread about this project on the doom-editing
mailing list. The project will NOT move to the wad-team mailing list,
since that one is full already. See Jimmy Siebens message for
refference. If anyone can supply us with our own, please tell me so.
So if you can tell ME.

The project is not going to be a TC and won't have extensive texture,
sounds etc. replacements.
The project is probably going to be any of these 3:

1) 32 new single player levels
2) half COOP level, half DM levels (the multiplayer X-perience)
3) 32 deathmatch levels.

WE (that's ME and the MODERATORS) will decide on what it's going to
be. It's not decided yet, but if we have decided we will let everyone
who signed up for this project know, NOT the whole mailing list. I
would be VERY displeased if I see another message on the mailing list
saying: "Hey why don't you make it a Heretic TC with Roger Rabbit as
the hero, fighting off cupcakes from hell?".

If you still want to sign up either as level builder (GOOD builders
only), Graphics Artist (Mainly titlepic etc.) or Music Composer, send
a mail to ME.

All you folks who signed up, please be patient, we'll get back to
you. Remember, we're still trying to find out if we can pull this
off. We have not started already. This can easily take a week or so.

Well that's it from me (I sincerely hope). I will utterly ignore any
response on this on the mailing list, be it comments, job
applications or whatever. If you do reply to the mailing list you're
only making me want to let you have a look at my lmp collection up
close. And believe me I've never heard of pkzip. (Seeing me stumble
through level 1..X on ultra violence is NOT a pretty sight).
Nah, I won't really do that, it just to illustrate the way I would
feel.

(It's a damn shame I can't carve this into a rocket and deliver it by
rocket launcher, some people need that I guess)

I'M DONE!

Putting "Reply-To: m.p.m.rutting@student.utwente.nl" in the mail
header would have been a good idea

It's an interesting idea. Of course there are groups that will
only be intersted in DM, the coop levels would just be overhead.

Check-out PIMP.WAD. It contains 32 of the best DM levels for Doom 1 that
have been converted to DoomII. The only problem is that the person
converting it changed ALL the shotguns into supershot guns. This scewed
up the the gameplay of some of the maps

If you're serious about this, I hope you have contacted "the wad team"
mailing list. (This is were the other project TNT went to. They've
spend a lot of time discussing some of the coordinating problems involved
in a project like this. For example, keeping the textures straight, keeping
a uniform theme between authors. If you need a pointer to this mailing list,
let me know.

Subject: WAD Error

Don't worry, this thread wont spark another 32 level creation :).
Ok, I am havinf a WAD error with a new section of one of my levels.
When I open the door to the new section, everything works normal.
I then turn the corner, and BLAM! Doom 2 1.9 bombs out on me. Here is
the exact errormessage I get: "W_CACHELUMPNUM: 789197 >= numlumps".
What is it, what causes it, and what can I do to prevent this error?
Thanks for all your help.
