Subject: Hello, McFly?
I have a question.
Why would the authors of DEU engineer a program that blows up if
you try to add more than 2048 sidedefs? At least that's what seems
to be happening. I have exactly 2048 sidedefs. I add one by
adding a 2nd sidedef to a one-sided line. All of a sudden the
screen just blows up, and lines of different colors fly everywhere.
It's really cool-looking but it's not helping my level get written.
Another question: I've always used DEU, and I deleted all the
editor-flame mail. What is another DOS-BASED (*NOT* Windows)
editor that is at least kind of like DEU and will let you edit
large levels? I've already tried DCK and its not for me. Any
other suggestions?

Hi there...
I=B4m new here, so please...

I think the size of ZIPs is not decisive for the quality of a PWAD.
Look, I=B4m the sysop of a little BBS here in germany, well known as a good
place to download good WADs. Because I tested every WAD and even played=20
most of them to the end, before I put them into my filebase.
Of course, I would not download any ZIP smaller than 70k - for a medium
or large level. Deathmatch levels are mostly small, of course.

Naa... you can=B4t be sure... some authors wrote: =B4no misaligned=
textures=B4,
there is no way to be sure, not even this garanties a good WAD.
Some time ago, I played the raven series - some of them are cool, others
are such a trash... strange...
Btw. somebody played sudtic, teutic or obtic?
Beleave me, I=B4m one of the authors of this. They are one of the top WADs
you can find. Especially obtic for Doom 2. Maybe sudtic is a bit old, but...=

Because all software sucks. (My PFME especially!)
Send your wad to the DEU guys so they can try to reproduce the problem.
Whining gets attention (and usually flameage), but if you want your problem
fixed, help them reproduce it.

Dunno. Just invest an afternoon and learn another editor (of course, I've
never done this. I just wrote my own when DEU broke :).

Funny, The people at 1-800-IDGAMES have no Idea what this is. Ask them about
Ultimate Doom and they say "We have Heretic, Doom, and Doom II." When will
the official release of this be? Also when will GT interactive be releasing
Doom II extra levels?

Have you tried the DJGPP version of DEU 5.21?

Ya, sounds like the problem I had with a large level I made - ran
out of conventional memory so it went haywire. DJGPP version fixed that
since it made use of extended memory.
