DoomGate

DoomGate is an information service that is brought to you by
a group of individuals who contribute their own time in order to bring you
the most up to date information about Doom related phenomenon.

Due to the popularity of the WWW services that we offer, we
decided to expand into various other media.
This is a list of services the New DoomGate (http://doomgate.cs.buffalo.edu/)
(previously www.cedar.buffalo.edu/~kapis-p/doom/) will now be supporting:

Finger - finger info@doomgate.cs.buffalo.edu

DoomGate - WWW portal to all other Doom related web pages
via http://doomgate.cs.buffalo.edu/

FTP/FSP archive - containing ports of the Shareware versions of Doom
- shareware add-on utilities
via doomgate.cs.buffalo.edu

USENET News - Since some of us don't have access to Doom related
newsgroups we are going to try experimentally to convert
their contents on the fly into HTML and make them available
for reading-only through DoomGate at:
http://doomgate.cs.buffalo.edu/news/

Mailing lists - several new mailing lists both discussion and
announcement-only based

To obtain a list of lists that are available along with their
descriptions send mail to majordomo@doomgate.cs.buffalo.edu
with a body containing the word "lists".

doomgate-announce - Cool things that are added to various
DoomWeb nodes and archives. (low traffic)

util-announce - Info on the latest upgrades and releases
of various utilities (low traffic)

wads - Discussion and reviews of various new
add-on levels

dforces-editing - Discussion of various technical aspects
of Dark Forces editing

descent-editing - Discussion of various technical aspects
of Descent editing

dooml - General Doom discussion list
(formerly dooml@cedar.univie.ac.at)

How did you end up receiving this mail:

This mailing is directed towards dooml mailing list subscribers
and those who responded to the DoomGate survey which ran over the course
of December 1994 on DoomGate.

If you are not interested in receiving future mailings, you will need
to send mail to majordomo@doomgate.cs.buffalo.edu with a message body
saying "unsubscribe doomgate-announce". I am sorry if this mail caused
you any inconvenience.

Also if you received this mailing more then once, check the
mail-to header of each message to see where each message was originally
destined to and unsubscribe from the appropriate account.

Any comments, suggestions, or problems should be directed to
live human beings who can be reached at: webmaster@doomgate.cs.buffalo.edu

We love doing this kind of stuff, so if you would like to make
sure that we keep on doing this you may consider bribing us with your
participation on various discussion forums and by mentioning all this
neat stuff to your friends and powerful parent ;-)

Just so that you know we are not official affiliated with
id software so all views mentioned here are ours and ours alone and
don't necessarily reflect those of id or any other company or person.

Fairness is irrelevant. This is HELL. Besides, it isn't fair for THEM if
I hear them before they see me.

But the stochastic substitution is a fairly good idea. It still doesn't
match the quality of hand crafting. What if you needed a (flying) cacodemon?

Just for the record, DJGPP is now at 1.12maint3.

What version of HEU are you heretic editors using? The HEU that we
wrote has
ALL the special sectors\things\and lindefs for heretic. If you want it,
please mail me.

I would love a copy! I have a few surprises in mind for some deathmatch
buddies. Is it possible for you to e-mail the executable to me (I have no
means of compiling)?

Thanks in advance.
