okay..... i cant quote... oodd....
well... i'm upto it.... i've already started on a "multi" editor...
edits all games... under the .WAD extention..:)
of course... since i suck at programming... i am using the files created as
*.DWD files... and a modified IDBSP :)

ive already got the linedef part of thw thing down packed... the things should
be EASY.... um....textures are kinda screwed on how you input them... but it
still works....
anyone wanna take a look at this piece of "work" (just above the "Piece of
crap to this point in time" thing....)
and get the thing fixxed up a little?

hows about you Mathew Ayres? :) <points at YOU>
or.... if you don't feel upto it....
Brendon Wyber i could get to do this.. (if they know PASCAL! :) :) :) )
so far its like a 10k thing... but in a few weeks it'll be big enough to
irelease...

I am looking into this. You seem to be correct on first look.

DEU is an excellent editor, but Raphael is just plainly procrastinating.
:) I guess we all do at times though.

Subject: Weekly reminder: beginners' questions

HAPPY NEW YEAR, ALL!!

This message is being posted at the request of the list caretaker:

The purpose of this list is to discuss *advanced* DOOM editing techniques.
In order to keep it that way, if you have a question but don't know whether
it's advanced or not, mail it in the first instance to:

Steve Benner : S.Benner@lancaster.ac.uk

Your question will either be answered or, if deemed suitable, forwarded to
the list. This is offered as a potential red-face saving and
list-annoyance abatement service. Feel free to send questions at any level
on any topic of WAD editing. If your questions are prefixed with the code
WQ: (for 'WAD query') in the subject field (e.g. Subject: WQ: Sprites),
they will be processed quicker because they will be spotted by an automatic
mail sorter and brought to my attention sooner than if I have to plough
through my mail-box!

This reminder will be posted here weekly, with the same subject title.

You need to convert more than that. You don't have any of the monsters in
common, and most of the other Things are also different. Tell you what.
If you feel like writting a text file to describe what should be converted
to what, I'll write a program to utilize it and convert the PWADs. Email
me if you are still interested.. :) (Amazing how many people forgot ideas
when they need to put some work toward it themselved..)

I am working on the level information in Descent. If anyone has a good
editor that can plot vertices in 3D space, I've got vertex lists for all
the levels. I'm still working on the "linedef" or equivalent info...

In response to Ben Morris' asking WHY I want to make another nodes-
builder:
Just for the hell of it. I am just now starting to understand how
the doom wad works in terms of the nodes structures and what is actually seen
I think that it is pretty interesting so I just wanna know how it works.
So let me ask my question again: I understand that you have to fork
the node on a 2 sided linedef but why does this make 4 children instead of 2?
How does the bsp tree work and why is it a tree and not just a fork at a
2-sided linedef?
