Well, I'm willing and able to supply some simple (or complex) .DXF files
for testing, however, I have no clue where to find any information on
their format. Maybe the local book store has some info on them, not
likely however, and hard copy books are difficult to send over the phone
line.
As for using DEU, I have been. It is by far the best editor. I have a
problem with the node builder though. I end up using EdMap 1.22's node
builder, but still use DEU to make the .WADs. DEU's n.b. consistently
gives me HOM effects on anything but the simplest of WADs (i.e. more than
a few sectors!)

You would also have to set all the sector floor/ceiling heights.
(On conversion of .DXF to .WAD)
