Why not allow input of 2-D .DXF files only? I don't know if a=20
determination can be made (easily) if the drawing is 2-D or 3-D, but that=
=20
would work, no?

I don't think the rav is required before each code, e.g. map, gimme, rambo,
... are all that you need. Save those keystrokes!

Hey, relax!
Play the game, play it some more, do everything, play some
deathmatch, then play some more. THEN hack it all apart and
worry about making pwads.
It does seem suitable for inclusion in the specs, but I'm not
going to do anything on it until I've fully enjoyed the game
itself. Shoot, I don't even know if I'm going to buy it right away,
since I spent too much on Xmas.
If you find stuff out and want to send it to me for possible inclusion
in the specs (and credit of course), please do. But I probably won't read it
for a while (for fear of ruining potential pleasant surprises...).

And I though I was reading the doom editing mailing list!
maybe there should be a doom-editing/heretic-cheat-codes list?
But I must admit, the game is good. Cool inviso effect.

Well, If somebody's going to create a new mailing list, count me in. I'll
probably throw down the dough for the registered version of heretic, just so
I can figure out what a registered version is for my mission editor.
Seems a crime that they're charging $50 bucks for a game that seems to be
a doom rehack, but you have to consider that they did change SOME code and
graphics/music aren't free. I personally think the price should have been
$40 or $35. At least give those of us who suffered through all the bugs in
DOOM a discount :)
The thing that really bites is that DOOM, Heretic, and all the other
spinoffs will be on a $20 CD in 2 years.
I am now thoroughly convinced that ID and friends do NOT have a
consistency checker. We all have their ass beat on that count.

You're right, no rav needed.

OK, I have a report that Heretic won't run anymore unless you set the
clock back. Anyone else noticed this? Do you think ID will have the
shareware ready before I leave town?
If anyone manages to get the full shareware non-beta release, drop it in
/incoming on ftp.cis.ufl.edu and tell me the exact name. I'll then make it
available in /pub/staff/thoth/doom/contrib/.
I still can't ftp to ftp.idsoftware.com. Romero's .plan sucks :)

If anyone can't connect to id's ftp site I think it's because it is now an
fsp site. Try that and I think it will work. I would try but I don't have fsp.

Hey all,
I can't tell if this is a bug or a feature, but the running water
sector effects 2 of the 3 ethereal bolts in heretic. Find a section of
fast moving water (there's some on level 3, outside, that you can't
move through unless you are running) and shoot the bolts into the flow.
They will acually *COME BACK TOWARDS YOU*. The don't do damage to
yourself, though.
Pretty f'n cool.

I noticed this. I can run it once only before reboot.

Not to get flammed or anything, buuut... WADED v1.70 supports Heretic map
editing. It even has an almost complete list of THINGS.
