Face on the cliff of a Canadian island. Was it sculpted by someone?
Was it created by mother nature, or is it an artificial work created by man? This is the question many are asking since the original discovery of an alleged giant face on a remote Canadian island.
A mysterious giant face has been spotted on the cliffs of a remote Canadian island, part of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.
The enigmatic face had been initially observed in 2008 by a kayaker, while paddling near Reeks Island, one of the numerous islands that form theBroken Group archipelago. When he spotted the face, he immediately sent photos to the government agency Parks Canada, but technicians were unable to pinpoint the precise location.
In 2015 the mysterious face was "rediscovered" by Hank Gus, of the Tseshaht First Nation, who had heard of the "face in the rock". Gus searched for the sculpture for two years and when he finally found the hidden treasure, took his cell phone and immortalized the enigmatic face carved into the cliff.
"It's quite visible from the sea, and it's quite large" Gus told CTN News at that time. Gus explained that the face is very similar to a wooden sculpture found on the door of the Tseshaht administration. "Resemble is impressive. The name is Ugi and he is the symbol of the wind. There is a possible reference to the history of our ancestors", ventures Gus.
According to some estimates, the face would be about 2.10 meters long. It is located in a place that is difficult to access, about 12 meters above sea level and about 8 meters from the top of the cliff.
The question that almost everyone is asking is whether the face is the work of some ancient Canadian culture that is still unknown or whether it is a bizarre sculpture made by nature, therefore completely random.
The problem is that the location of the curious formation is difficult to reach and therefore it is difficult to conduct further investigations on the site.
Like many other discoveries of the past, this too was soon forgotten. Nine years have passed since that distant 2015 and there have been no developments.
The question therefore remains? who carved that face on the rock?
