Our X6 bags (heavy synthetic material) were badly stained and clogged,
slowing down pressing. I tried a several industrial cleaners at recommended
strength as well TSP, soaking the bags overnight and repeated washings.
Nothing really worked. The solution was to scrub them with the pressure
washer, while time consuming we returned the bags to nearly new condition.

split a batch of apple juice into 5 demijohns and used different yeasts to
see what would happen.
My objective was to test the malic acid reduction ability of the yeasts.
However, I did notice marked differences in the colour of the cider in a
couple of cases. Yes, some yeasts flocculated less well, but that would not
have accounted for the colour differences.
Sadly, owing to a problem with my PC and the backup I used (which failed),
I lost my notes. I repeated the test the next year with only three yeasts
but made no note of the colour changes, only the reduction in acidity
(discussed on a much earlier post) and the cloudiness of the cider at
different stages. But, unless my memory deceives me (possible!) there were
marked colour differences in a couple of cases (beer yeasts I think they
were). Can't tell you anything more though.
Cheers,
Martin
