It is my great pleasure to announce that the 7th annual Great Lakes 
Cider & Perry Festival is coming up shortly,  the afternoon of Saturday, 
September 6, 2014.   The event is sponsored by the Great Lakes Cider & 
Perry Association and hosted by Uncle John's Cider Mill in St. 
Johns, Michigan. 

This is a public tasting event, not to be confused with the annual 
international cider competition of nearly the same name.  (For those who 
wonder the competition will take place April 10-12, 2015 in Grand 
Rapids, Michigan.) 

Details for next week's exciting public tasting opportunity 
(map, hours, ticket information) may be found at the association website 
(www.greatlakescider.com).  Proceeds of the event go to the Great Lakes 
Cider & Perry Association and  help finance the annual competition. 

Commercial cider makers who wish to have their cider and/or perry 
alongside an impressive array of products from within and outside the 
Great Lakes region should contact Mike Beck for details 
(mjbeck@ujcidermill.com).  If you cannot come in person volunteers will 
be provided to pour your cider.  Cider makers are asked to provide six 
750 ml bottles or equivalent of each brand (or may come equipped for 
draft dispensing), limited to 4 brands per producer due to the high 
number of producers who participate.
