Bill
I take exception to your comment "hardly" in reference to NY ' s new
cider law being perfect.
Please point me to any other state or federal statute that is
better. Governor Cuomo in my opinion is as friendly to family owned farms
as a public official can be. With his fine tuning of the NY Farm winery
law, his farm brewery and farm distillery enactments and now this clarity
of NY's position on farm Cideries and the broadening of the definition of
cider to a realistic basis his administration has hit several home runs
for farmers and the industry.
It only gets better with Chuck Schumers proposed federal legislation. Both
Senator Schumer and Governor Cuomo get it and they are working to improve
our industry.
I deigned to respond to the naysayer and critic popping off about Beaver
scent. Let him understand what real raspberry or maple or strawberry
or straight cider tastes like when he drinks the real stuff from a NY
cidery. Or he can continue to drink the Chinese concentrate or glucose
made stuff, just, it will not be from NY.
I am excited and proud to be making cider from fresh locally grown fruit
grown on a farm in NY. I am very proud to have legislators like Senator
Schumer and Governor Cuomo who are pro farmer and pro small business.
Other than that Bill I enjoy your NY Cider.
Respectfully,
Tom Frey
