I too had the idea of using a lift table in some future basement with a
fermenting room. Go to www.northerntool.com and search for lift table. But
they are about $250 and up.
As a homebrewer, I was interested in this 12 volt pump for an all-grain
system, and may yet get one to use with a solar water heater to reduce
propane use. It's $80, $75 if you buy two.

Here's the data on the new Lalvin QA23 yeast, which
sounds to me as if it would be worth trying on cider.

I've read a variety of notes on the somewhat-newer G.935 rootstock, and I'm
confused by recommendations which seem to vary from treating it as fully
dwarfing and perhaps cordon or trellis training, to nearly free-standing
semi-dwarf (although requiring a permanent stake according to -most- of
what I've read).
So what makes sense for cider production? Would trees on 935 best be
planted fairly close in the row? Is "central leader" (as a theme even if
not absolute) sensible?
I'm hoping to hear from folks who've had a few years' experience with 935,
specifically with cider varieties.
Speculation I don't need! (Supply exceeds demand:-)
