I've used the BeerGun to bottle a few dozen cases of this'n'that. It
takes a little getting-used-to, but it's worked OK for me. Used it last
night for 5 cases (3x12, 2x24 bottles) of a sparkling raspberry melomel.
It won't work well with high carbonation levels nor if there's a strong
tendency to foam. Last night's mead came out of three kegs, of which
one was overcarbonated so slightly tricky. The other two were fine.
And obviously it's not what you want if you're needing to bottle a hundred
cases. (But then, neither is a manual CPF.) Still, it does a good job
for me. I've not used a regular CPF much, but the sort of design with
valves that require a quarter-turn for each open or shut feels like a
wrist-wrecker. By contrast the BeerGun valves are both spring-loaded
finger triggers.
What did you find to be the problem with the BeerGun?
