Was the ancient martian civilization wiped out by an alien nuclear attack?

What might seem like the idea of a science fiction novel, is actually the theory of Dr. John Brandenburg, a plasma physicist: on Mars there was a thriving civilization, then wiped out by a nuclear attack by an alien invader. The scientist claims to have found evidence of two nuclear explosions on the planet's surface. Then he warns the earthlings: the Earth could also suffer the same fate as Mars.

According to plasma physicist Dr. John Brandenburg, the ancient inhabitants of Mars, known as Cydonians and Utopians, were wiped out by a series of nuclear explosions caused by another alien race, and evidence of the genocide is still visible today.

The precursors of Brandenburg's theory date back to 2011, when the scientist hypothesized that the typical red color of Mars could be due to thermonuclear explosions of natural origin.

“The high concentration of Xenon-129 in the atmosphere, the presence of Krypron-80 and the excessive abundance of uranium and thorium found on the surface, compared to the meteorites of Mars, tells us that the planet has been the subject of massive radiological events, which created large quantities of isotopes and covered the surface with a thin layer of radioactive debris. These anomalies may be the consequence of two large anomalous nuclear explosions that occurred in the Mars' past”

wrote Brandenburg in the Journal of Cosmology and Astrophysics.

However, as he continued his studies, Brandenburg slowly became convinced that the nuclear explosions had to be of artificial origin, to the point of hypothesizing an alien attack.

“Given the large quantity of nuclear isotopes present in its atmosphere, very similar to those produced by nuclear tests on Earth, Mars may represent an example of a civilization wiped out by a nuclear attack from space”

he wrote in his book “Death on Mars: The Discovery of a Planetary Nuclear Massacre”.

The scientist also provides the location of the two hypothetical explosions:

A first explosion would have wiped out the civilization present in the region of Cydonia Mensae, and a second, less powerful one would have instead destroyed the civilization settled in the region called Galaxias Chaos.

Brandenburg explained that Mars once had a climate similar to Earth, and was rich in plant and animal life. Furthermore, there was the presence of intelligent life, at least as advanced as the ancient Egyptians on Earth.

His belief is based on the analysis of two regions, one of which is Cydonia, the site of the infamous “face” photographed by NASA's Viking 1 probe in 1976. According to Brandenburg, it would be an artifact built by the ancient Martian civilization.

Furthermore

“Analyses of images from the Odyssey, MRO and Mars Express show strong evidence of archaeological objects present at these sites”

Brandenburg wrote.

“Taken together, the data should be interpreted as belonging to the scenario of an ancient planetary nuclear massacre.”

Finally, Brandenburg warns that we too should be afraid of a similar attack on our planet and organize, as soon as possible, a human mission to Mars to find out what really happened.

“Providentially, we have a warning about this possible aspect of the universe”

he wrote.

The scientific community is far from inclined to give credence to John Brandenburg's theory, which, however, seems to confirm some of the hypotheses that Graham Hancock, Robert Bauval and John Grigsby had already proposed in their 1998 book "The Enigma of Mars”.

According to the three researchers, the Red Planet appears devastated by a terrifying catastrophe which put an end, in very remote times, to life forms similar to those on Earth, as NASA also recently hypothesized, after finding traces of fossil microorganisms in a detached meteorite from Mars 13 thousand years ago.

Brandenburg's theory appears to be on more solid ground, even if it still relies on too much speculation and our current knowledge of the power of nuclear weapons.

Perhaps what we get from Brandenburg's hypothesis is a solid warning against causing something like this on our beloved planet, and it underlines the belief of many scientists that previously unidentified intelligent life forms may at some point have become extinct due to a cosmic catastrophe or through self-destruction.

It is worth reflecting.
