For the Chocolate Cupcake Batter:
1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Cream Cheese Filling:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add water, vegetable oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until well combined.
In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add egg and salt, beating until creamy.
Fold in chocolate chips into the cream cheese mixture.
Fill each cupcake liner halfway with chocolate cupcake batter.
Top each cupcake with a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture, covering the chocolate batter.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
