Strawberry Crunch Cupcakes with Strawberry Filling ππ§

1 box white cake mix
1 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs
1/2 cup strawberry jam or preserves
1 cup crushed strawberry-flavored cereal
1 batch strawberry buttercream frosting (recipe follows)
Fresh strawberries, for garnish (optional)

Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, milk, vegetable oil, and eggs. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until well combined and smooth.
Fill each cupcake liner 2/3 full with batter.
Spoon 1 teaspoon of strawberry jam or preserves onto the center of each cupcake.
Top the jam with another tablespoon of batter to cover it completely.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once the cupcakes are cool, frost them with the strawberry buttercream frosting and sprinkle the crushed strawberry-flavored cereal on top.
Garnish each cupcake with a fresh strawberry if desired.
