STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE VATRUSHKA BUNS πŸ“πŸ˜‹

Servings: 12 buns


Ingredients:

  • 200g strawberries, hulled and diced
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 250g cottage cheese (tvorog or quark)
  • 1 egg
  • 50g unsalted butter, melted
  • 100ml milk
  • 50g granulated sugar
  • 300g all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Confectioners' sugar, for dusting

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix the diced strawberries with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and set aside.
  • In another bowl, combine the cottage cheese, egg, melted butter, milk, and 50g of granulated sugar until smooth.
  • In a separate large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  • Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
  • Flatten each ball into a disk and place a spoonful of the cottage cheese mixture and a spoonful of the strawberries in the center.
  • Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching to seal.
  • Place the filled buns on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before dusting with confectioners' sugar.
