Strawberry Panna Cotta dessert ๐Ÿ“โœจ

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Pour the whole milk into a small bowl and sprinkle the gelatin over it. Let it sit for 5 minutes to soften.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla bean seeds and pod. Heat over medium heat until the mixture starts to steam, but do not let it boil.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the softened gelatin mixture until completely dissolved.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large measuring cup or bowl, discarding the vanilla bean pod.
  5. Divide the mixture evenly among 6-8 ramekins or glasses. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  6. In a separate bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with granulated sugar. Let them macerate at room temperature for about 30 minutes, until juicy.
  7. Before serving, spoon the macerated strawberries over the chilled panna cotta. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, if desired.
