_____Ingredients:_____
1 cup (225g) unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups (300g) light brown sugar
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (175g) dark chocolate chips or chunks
1 cup (125g) walnuts, roughly chopped
_____Directions:_____
Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar until well combined and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla extract until frothy. Gradually pour in the slightly cooled butter-sugar mixture, whisking constantly.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the dark chocolate chips and chopped walnuts until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into bars.
