Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced
Additional powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry sheet into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Using a sharp knife, cut the pastry into 3 equal pieces lengthwise. Then, cut each strip into 3 rectangles, making a total of 9 pieces.
Place the pastry rectangles on the prepared baking sheet and prick them all over with a fork to prevent puffing too much during baking.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack.
In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
To assemble, place one pastry rectangle on a serving plate. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and sliced strawberries. Repeat with another layer of pastry, cream, and strawberries. Top with the final pastry rectangle.
Dust the top of the napoleon with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.
