_____Directions:_____
Prepare the Cake:
Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, creamy peanut butter, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Fold in the white chocolate chips.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Make the Peanut Butter Frosting:
In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and creamy peanut butter until smooth.
Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until well combined.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Add milk or cream, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the frosting reaches a spreadable consistency.
Assemble the Cake:
Once the cake layers are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate or cake stand.
Spread a layer of peanut butter frosting over the top of the first layer.
Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.
Decorate with white chocolate curls, chopped peanuts, and peanut butter cups, if desired.
