4. Hopkins flew Clark to New York, whereupon Clark aggressively injected
himself into matters and vigorously opposed continuing an outside
investigation and reporting the alleged felonies to law enforcement
authorities. He defended this position, in writing, saying: "if this story
is true, it is not just a UFO case but a `politically sensitive' event
because it supposedly involves a political figure of international
stature...banging on the wrong doors could alert the relevant agency that
two of its agents were leaking a huge secret." (Clark, 1992a, p. 1).
We will let the readers decide whether Clark's initial position was
compatible with "real-world" considerations.
We are gratified that Clark has taken the time to comment, at length, on
these issues, and in a style so typical of his level of dispassionate
commentary. We caution readers that Clark perhaps may be currently acutely
embarrassed by his statement quoted in point 4 and may feel the need to
obscure this central issue. Nevertheless, we are pleased that he now seems
to have made a cathartic conversion.

*Good* one, Don!
When I noticed that the posting was going to be a 15-parter, I
first thought: "Spare us!" - but once I started reading, I
couldn't stop!
What I had seen on this board by Hansen seemed, at first, like
the ravings of someone who was simply excited about having a
"pissing contest" with Jerry Clark. However, these guys did a
great report on this case. This report reflects a lot of quality
work on a goofy case.
What I expect to hear next is some excitement about the
acknowledgment to Phil Klass, which will be considered as "the
Mark of the Devil".

Very impressive - thank you. As is so frequently the situation,
a little leg (let your fingers do the walking) dispells a lot of
rumors. The only frustrating link is the WLS programmer who thought
she remembered the story. Did she happen to remember which program
host carried the item? The other side of that, of course, is that when
asked a specific question people will frequently "remember" things so
as not to look incompetent.
From my point of view, you have done well to put this one to rest.

That's very true. With my sighting, I've wanted to see the things for decades
now, but I've always been able to say, "Well, that's just a plane" or "Oh, that
was a bolide or a shooting star" or "Oh, that's a natural phenomenon", but when
I saw this thing, I kept running through the possibilities and couldn't come up
with anything. I've been exposed to arial (sp?) phenomenon for a long time,
especially in the Phoenix Metro area, and to some pretty weird looking natural
stuff, but this just didn't fit into any catagory that I have stored away in my
little mind. Of course, that does not make it an alien spacecraft from another
place/dimension/whatever. Also, I never searched for independant witnesses.
Does that mean there weren't any? No, it means that I felt that I know what I
saw and even if it was an alien spacecraft from another whatever, it was only
night lights and really didn't add to the experience of unidentifiable flying
objects as a whole.
Being involved with ParaNet and the FIDO UFO Echo, as well as knowing people
from MUFON and other investigative organizations has helped me to realize that
the incident can be very, very important to my life without meaning a major
change (or even a minor change - or even an inclusion!) in the UFO community as
a whole. Any argumentation over what I saw would solely be for my own benefit,
and would serve only to divert the attention of the community away from
potentially more important investigations (although I selfishly welcome and
encourage such discussions!).

I was able to revisit the private library where I found
the book 'The Saucers Speak' and xerox the Solex Mal words.
I found a few more SM phrases, given below, and discovered
that I had made a few minor errors copying the glossary by hand.
OARHAE RETTO (untranslated)
AWA AGFA AFFA REFIS LAQU (untranslated, may be just names)
RONEM (untranslated, but may mean goodbye, over and out, etc.)
VENIS VENIS ( part of incoherent text Vvs Venis Venis Tfas Ks Ar
Ragif Kont Va. The last 3 words correspond to a glyph in OTOF.)
Greeting to be said by arriving UFO crews:
TU VEC SATUM DO PATTLA BARRAGA (untranslated)
We should reply:
UDUM REGAN VEC YONTO NICTUM BARRAGA (untranslated, but
vec is glossed 'space,', barraga, friends.)
These phrases somewhat resemble the words
'Klatu Burada Nicto' from 'The Day the Earth Stood Still,'
the film in which Michael Rennie and the robot GORT arrive
in a UFO and land in Washington, DC. Does anyone know if this
film was was released prior to 1952?
Minor corrections to glossary:
Adee capital city of Jupiter, called Etonya
Chan 'means 'afflicted' in certain ancient languages'
Elex (not Elox) ' the young son of Zo and UM'
Elala '... formerly called Wogog.'
Kadar Lacu also called Kalar Laqu, not Kadar Laqu
Macas Neptunian cattle, not contact
Nah-9 from Neptune, not Mars
Ro from the Toresoton solar system, omitted
Wan-4 not Waw-4
Sorry about these errors.
I also saw an ad for a new book which purports to
explain what it going on in Area 51 in Nevada. The book
'Nikola Tesla- Free Energy and The White Dove' by
'Commander X, former military intelligence operative,'
claims that inventions of Tesla are responsible for the high
speed and anti-gravity aircraft at this site. The book is a pb
published by Global Communications at $9.95. It is not clear
from the blurb what Tesla, who 'came from another place to
alert the world of impending dangers and offer solutions to
our problems,' was.

Hello to all ParaNet users. I am leaving this message to mention an
article in the most recent issue of Psychology Today. There is an
article that speaks of holy places and phenomenon, and among these are
UFO's. The man's theory is that geophysical changes in the Earth's
magnetic field create plasma balls, along with distorions in the human
brain chemistry that induce hallucinations of the type where cultural
belief patterns held by the observer (for instance, this round ball that
is unknown to me is an UFO and I'll 'place' the image of a saucer on it)
influence what is seen.
I'm not supporting or denying his theory, merely pointing it out for
those who might have an interest.

There seems to be quite a lot of opinions being generated over this
report. Some have called it "the three guys from Jersey having an AX
to grind", and others find it very credible.
The only thing I care about are the facts. I'm just as content to leave
personalities out of it. What nags at me is that if Budd "loses" then
we ALL LOSE. That's the bottom line here, in my opinion.
Too many things bother me with this case...ie.."Dan" and "Richard" haven't
been shown conclusively to exist (I've seen no evidence of that). The fact
that Budd's assistant would offer up the explanation that it's "OK" to
deceive or lie about facets of the case (as noted in the report); the fact
that Linda _admitted_ to intentionally spreading mis-information to Joe
Stefula; the fact that Budd could *not* identify the weather conditions
at the time of Linda's alledged abduction event (That's incredible! and
violates the BASIC tenent of investigation..ie..one of the very first
items in the MUFON report form is a query on weather conditions). Other
things that bother me are that Linda's "claim" as to her "blood being
rejuvenated"; her claims about her "implant" (what _other_ doctor can
verify that?). I could go on and on and on..my list has about 35 other
"little" outpoints that just don't add up. In fact, _nothing_ I've
observed, read or heard in this "story" adds up at all. With all due
respect to messrs. Jacobs, Clark, Andrus, et al...I don't see where
all the "beef" is..am I missing something here?
While I will not begrudge Budd Hopkins to make his due share in book
profits,conventions,etc..it is rather *disturbing* that we are asked
to "believe" that Budd has a solid case when too many questions are
being posed and we are hearing _nothing_ but silence from the principals
in the case, who (ostensibly) are supposedly looking after UFOlogy's
"best interests" by virtue of their integrity and reputation. This is
NOT the way to go about it. Admittedly these are *my* opinions and do
not reflect any organization but I have to wonder why is it that it
takes someone like the "3 guys from Jersey" to stir this pot up and
even though their approach is unorthodox, I've seen no one other
than Jerome Clark (who mainly took pot shots, no factoids were
enumerated) address Stefula, Butler and Hansen's claims?
This _shouldn't_ be a "pissing contest" between the "3 guys from Jersey"
versus Andrus,Clark,Hopkins, etc but yet in a phone conversation with
Joe Stefula, he told me that _because_ they would not address their
questions (reasonable ones I might add) that they decided to "push
the issue" on their own. As you can well imagine, this report hasn't
been received in some quarters, but lest anyone should mis-understand
my missive here, I wish to re-iterate again that I could care less
about "party politics", or personalities. I'm just "after the Facts,
Ma'm" . Further, unless I can see concrete proof to sustantiate
claims here in the next few months, I'm going to be inclined to dismiss
this whole affair as a complete fantasy. I've yet to see anything to
change my viewpoint as of yet, but I am willing to keep "a channel open".
One thing, IMHO, that doesn't do much to help Budd's credibility is
that we are asked to "wait until the book comes out and then you'll
know the whole story". That doesn't auger very well, nor does it support
his case to offer up such explanations. Dr. Jacobs is more than welcome
to dis-agree, but he should understand than in the scientific world, facts
are generally given to substantiate claims, and peer pressure
nothwithstanding, there have been NO such facts offered up to the "great
unwashed" of those of us on these various UFO echoes and Nets that would
hold water. Heck, there's been absolutely _no_ proof to demonstrate that
"Richard" or "Dan" even exist!
I'm certainly glad that it doesn't fall on *my* shoulders to prove Linda's
contention that her "blood rejuvenates" ! :}

Thank you for that information, Curt! Fascinating that, as usual, the writer
of this article does not bother to address or account for the multiple
independant witnesses and photographic evidence, obviously either wishing to
dismiss both as intentional fabrications or writing from the all-too-common
position of ignorance or denial of this information.

Another point that disturbs me Pete is... Just exactly _WHO_ are
the writers convincing with their writing?? For example (and
please correct me if I am incorrect), Jacob's _Secret Life_ has

What about Roswell... Two recent books out - but I haven't heard

I think you are already familiar enough with my work so
I'll begin by saying that Mr.Antonio Huneeus << noted UFO
writer for N.Y.Tribune and other world publications who
wrote numerous articles on my story later >> drove in from
New York with Mr. Bill Knell << at the time: Editor of NY
UFO Report, NY Director of MUFON, member-spokesperson and
Director of Investigations for Island Skywatch Steering
Committee, member of UFINET Board of Approval - who later
wrote me a letter stating: "I believe you have hit the nail
right on the head as far as the `Westchester Wing' object
goes. I believe that your story has more than important
local implications, but may explain many interesting
sightings around the world." >> to attend my UFO/B-2 model
introduction in Wethersfield, Connecticut last Saturday
night under near blizzard conditions. Ironicaly, I must
give thanks to the `great snow God in the sky' for being re-
sponsible for a reduction in attendance which enabled me to
spend more time with Tony and Bill. This led to a situation
where Antonio became very familiar with all my work and
where he recorded over 2 hours of discussion and photo's.
A few days later, I telephoned Antonio to thank him
(again) for driving the distance under such adverse condit-
ions. It was during this conversation that he asked if I
felt there `may' be a connection between the `anti-gravity'
technology that I believe to be deployed on the Hudson
Valley B-2 and the `Cash/Landrum' craft. Since I only vag-
uely remembered having heard of the incident, Tony gave me a
`capsule' overview which freshened my memory about having
learned of the episode in the documentary film `UFO COVER
UP' last year. He went on to mention that YOU are the
leading aurhority on the subject and that I should pursue
the matter because he felt there `may' be a connection. He
suggested I call Bob Bletchman (with whom I speak on the
phone almost daily) for mare details and that I contact you
directly. << Bob Bletchman was/is the International Public
Relations Officer of MUFON who at a press conference at the
Whole Life Expo in New York city fully endorsed my
investigation and findings. >>
Before writing this letter, John, I did call Bob and he
filled me in with a general `over-view' about the whole
incident. He also recommended I contact you.
Normally, John, because of the `dis-similarity' between
the Cash/Landrum craft and the B-2, I would probably have
dismissed all of this, however, there are a few `details'
that compelled me to follow-up with this letter. Specif-
ically, one concerns the fact that these ladies suffered
`radiation' exposure which, to me, implies they `may' have
been exposed to `something nuclear' - perhaps a test vehicle
for the `anti-gravity technology' that is deployed on the
UFO/B-2! << UFO version >>
Before going on, let me inject that Northrop, in the
Washington Post article I included in my next-to-last paper,
is reported to have `redundant computer facilities' in both
Seattle and `somewhere' in Texas. << I later learned that
LTV of Texas was `first' on-board in B-2 production. >> Be-
yond this, I have an official UFO sighting report from a
lady in the Seattle area who sighted a Hudson Valley type of
craft in her area. It was filed with CUFOS and forwarded to
me by Mark Rodeigher. << of CUFOS >> The `Texas' location
of the Northrop facility is an unknown (to me at least).
I also add that Stanton Friedman, privately, has indicated
to me that he is inclined to believe the UFO/B-2 is
