On July 8, 1947, Colonel William Blanchard--the commanding officer of
the 509th Bomb Group in Roswell, New Mexico--officially announced to the
world that the U.S. Army had "captured a flying saucer."
Within hours, the story was quashed by Brigadier General Roger M. Ramey,
commander of the Eighth Air Force in Fort Worth, Texas, who told the
press that the reported "flying saucer" was nothing more than the
scattered remains of a military target balloon. Ramey claimed that the
officers of the 509th had been caught up in the excitement of the moment
and simply misidentified the debris.
Ramey's explanation was the last word on the Roswell flying saucer until
1978, when Jesse Marcel, a former intelligence officer of the 509th,
revealed that he was the man who had picked up the debris. Marcel said,
"I was certain ... that it was not a weather balloon, not an aircraft,
nor a missile. It was something else ... we didn't know what it was."
The intensive investigation that exploded the Roswell coverup was
conducted by Donald R. Schmitt, Director of Special Investigations for
the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies, and Kevin D. Randle, a former
Air Force intelligence officer. For more than two years they travelled
across the country and interviewed over three hundred witnesses in order
to discover the truth about the crash at Roswell. Their conclusion,
reported in their recent book UFO CRASH AT ROSWELL, is that a vehicle of
extraterrestrial manufacture did indeed crash in the New Mexico desert
in 1947, just as the Army had originally claimed.
This month, MICAP, Inc., an international UFO research organization
headquartered in the Denver area, will feature Roswell investigator
Kevin Randle at a pair of public lectures to be held in Boulder and
Denver. This illustrated presentation will reveal Randle & Schmitt's
latest findings in the ongoing investigation of the Roswell crash.
Included for the first time will be a rare audio recording of the actual
1947 radio broadcast announcing the recovery of a flying saucer near
Roswell.
Kevin D. Randle is a professional investigative journalist with previous
training in military intelligence. He has been studying the UFO
phenomenon for more than twenty years and has published three books and
more than fifty magazine articles on the subject. He was one of the
first persons outside the government to examine the files of Project
Blue Book, the official U.S. Air Force investigation of UFOs. As a
former member of APRO (the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization), and
currently as a special investigator for CUFOS (the J. Allen Hynek Center
for UFO Studies), he has researched UFO landing-trace reports, occupant
sightings, and abduction cases. His two previous books--THE OCTOBER
SCENARIO and THE UFO CASEBOOK--established him as one of the premier
authors in the field. His latest work, UFO CRASH AT ROSWELL, was co-
authored with Donald Schmitt and published last year by Avon Books.
Kevin Randle regularly appears on radio and television, and has been
featured on NBC's UNSOLVED MYSTERIES. He will be available for

Just in case it's of any help... There was (and may still be) a Harvard
Meteor Project. They had Super-Schmidt cameras spaced out and set to record
meteors for tracking and research. Sometimes it was possible to triangulate
and recover the remains. May be out of date but Richard E. McCrosky was in
charge. Another lead may be Robert J. Davis, director of Celescope project,
which is at the Smithsonian, in conjunction with NASA. If the Harvard project
is dead, there should still be documentation of their efforts.
By the way, meteors enter the atmosphere at a speed of 11 to 72 Km per
second. Which is about 7 to 44 Miles per second. I took the slowest speed and
it works out to just over 400 miles per minute, and the top range is 2640
MPM, which as you can see leaves much room in between for variations in speed.
This information is over 10 years old, but leads to the institutions
involved.

from a question and answer session following a speech he gave in
Tehachapi, California. I think it is of interest to you readers.

Question: What about William Cooper and his claims about
extraterrestrials and the Kennedy assassination?
Bo: It's a great and a good question and a fair one about
Bill Cooper and all that he says including the part about
when I was Commander of Special Forces in Latin America, I
had something to do with the alien stuff. Here's the real
quick run down...
First of all, Bill Cooper caught himself in a terrible lie.
He shot himself. We didn't do it to him. Bill Cooper had
been selling a tape made by someone who worked for me by the
name of Lars Hansen. Allegedly, it shows the driver, Bill
Greer, turning around and killing the President, but, Bob
Groden is a friend of mine, he was the man for the
Congressional Assassinations Committee who was their
technical film advisor. Life magazine bought up the
Zapruder film, but, Groden had access to it for the
Congressional Investigations. So, Groden made himself a
first generation copy. I told Lars, when he showed me that,
I said, 'Lars, you got big trouble. We never shoot anybody
with a chrome-plated 45. We've got so much stuff we could
use, you'd never use something that would reflect like
that.' Secondly, the driver impossible. The reason is
because the driver has got to control that vehicle. If
you're going to kill the President, I don't care how
hypnotized you've been or how little blood you've got in
your veins, you don't kill the President every day and turn
around and have to direct your attentionyou know what
happens when you turn around if you drop a cigarette butt
between your knees or you turn around to get something that
falls off the seatand so, I said, 'It's just too tricky and
you don't need it because there's enough ways to get him
without using the driver.'
So Lars went to Bob Groden and when he went there Bob Groden
laughed and pulled out his 1st generation and gave us a copy
of it and it very clearly shows that it is Kellerman.
Kellerman is in the right-hand seat. Kellerman gets down
when the bullets start flying, then just as the President is
killed, Kellerman raises up. When he raises up, the sun
reflects off of Kellerman's hair. The same as it's
reflecting off the other peoples hair, but, the bar is kind
of a bright bar, It's slanted up this way and Greer, on the
1st generation film, has both hands on the wheel just like
this (Bo demonstrates hand position). He is turned and
looked at the President, but, both hands are locked, just
like they're taught to be locked, so the vehicle isn't going
to veer. He turns around, looks at the Presidentno
question, I think Greer is probably in on it, 'cause he's
slowing the vehicle downbut, Kellerman lifts up, the bar of
light shows off his hair, the President is hit in the head.
I believe from the right front, and, of course, you all know
the result of it.
Now, Cooper, of course, has said that he saw that and all
the secret documents. Let me give you some logic.
Does anybody believe that I was a Chief of Congressional
Relations in the Office of Secretary of Defense? Does
anybody believe that I was an Army General Staff Officer in
the Pentagon? I have been there at the highest levels of
classification. As a Chief of Congressional Relations,
there were almost no documents that weren't available
because you have to be there to determine whether Congress
has the clearance to see the stuff that they request. Like
when Senator Barry Goldwater wanted to go into Hangar 18 at
Wright Patterson, somebody had to see whether or not it was
all right and they said, 'No, you can't go.' Somebody was
authorized to look and see. I didn't know anything about
flying saucers in those days, or aliens and so I didn't go
looking around, but, I guess I probably could have.
Here's my point. Cooper says that when the watch
officer Cooper's never claimed to be an officer. He keeps
saying he's been a Naval Intelligence Officer. That's a
lie. Cooper's been an enlisted man, there's no question.
He was an enlisted man in the Navy and in the Air Force.
Cooper said that when the Naval Watch Officer went for
coffee that he grabbed a file and copied it. Now, here's
the problems with that. See, Cooper's never been around
classified information.
First of all, Watch Officers don't go for coffee. They send
the enlisted man, probably, to get it. Secondly, if you do
go, every safe has a red and green tag. It says 'Open' or
it says 'Closed'. On every safe there is a place to sign in
and sign out. If you even take your eyes off those
containers, you spin all the dials, you put the green tags
in and you sign them and then you go to the men's room or to
get coffee. Nobody leaves those safes open. Secondly,
there is no Xerox machine authorized anywhere around
classified information containers. Can you understand why?
Xerox almost put us out of the security business anyway,
but, you can understand why you couldn't have a Xerox.
Thirdly, and here's the greatest problem with his logic can
you imagine having in one file that a Navy person could go
through and look and find one file that tells everything
from the aliens to government drug trafficking, to who
killed John Fitzgerald Kennedy, to everything else that he
says. It was all in one file? Give me a break.
It would be in probably twenty five files and it would be
all over the place and why would they have that kind of
information in Hawaii? You see, they don't copy this stuff
and put it all over. If it is 'code word', if it is coded,
then sometimes an Admiral may have to fly all the way from
Hawaii to Washington in order to see a 'code word' document
that is S.I. Special Intelligence, Above Top Secret, because
they don't let these things out, they don't Xerox them and
send them all out.
When I was in command of Special Forces Latin America, I
knew a lot about what was going on within the CIA and our
covert operations. My efficiency report is right in here.
It says, 'This officer is responsible for unconventional
warfare in Latin America.' Unconventional warfare, guerilla
warfare, subversion, sabotage, assassinations, direct action
missions, all of those were within my scope of
responsibilities. I didn't know anything about aliens. I
had never heard anything about them. I knew about the
government drug operations. I didn't like it, but, as a
commander, you are always taught you keep your eye on your
mission.
So, when Manuel Noriega turns up dirty dealing in Operation
Watch Tower, we're going to kill him and that's what we send
back. Then, when I'm ordered by a three star general,
Harold Arons says, 'You keep your hands off Manuel Noreiga.
He has immense value at the highest levels.' What are you
going to do? You don't know how this thing is interfacing
with the world. You have to have some faith in great white
father and big brother. That's why there is no original
thought in uniform. If you've got people in uniform looking
like Schwarzkopfpeople saying, 'Make Schwarzkopf
President.' Maybe in three or four years if Schwarzkopf
will start getting his head up and learning what's going on,
he might make a good President. But, coming out of uniform,
friends, you know far more than General Schwarzkopf right
now about what's real in the world.
So, that's the story. I think Cooper got caught and I think
he got mad. He put on his phone answering machine, 'If you
support Bo Gritz, Jesus Christ will not claim you.' (Crowd
laughter) I don't know what Cooper knows about Jesus. I
know this if you looked, for example, at my files, it says
very clearly, 'This officer is given Top Secret clearance,
background investigation this date...' It's easy to show.
It's no big deal. But, Cooper has never produced a single
document that has ever shown that he has even had access.
Your assignments say, 'This officer was a Chief of
Congressional Relations... this period of time.' Cooper has
no documents that show or he's ever presented I've got his
file that shows he had any kind of assignment that would
allow him to have any other clearance than maybe he turned
the lights on and off for a briefing one time.
Here is what we're going to do. You see, if the alien thing
is real you know, about The Grays and The Reptilians here's
what happens: Who created us? God. Thank you. Who created
government? We the people created government. Now, if we
created the government, should there be secrets? There is a
need for national security, but, friends, if there are
aliens and when I say, 'I'm going to open up Hangar 18' that
doesn't mean that's all. When I say, 'If you want to go
into Hangar 18, we're taking volunteers.' I mean that we are
going to open the book, because I don't care what's in
there.
Don't you think America should know what is going on? We
need to know the history, all the way back from the very
beginning. We need to know whether it was Nazis flying
saucers or whether it was from outer space. We need to know
what landed at Roswell (New Mexico) or crashed and that they
were so secret that they wouldn't let Barry Goldwater look
at it. We need to know these things. Why? It's our
country. Who are we keeping the secrets from? The
Russians? Mikhail Gorbachev perhaps? No, and so, do you
understand when I say, 'We're going to open the doors to
Hangar 18', what does that mean? It doesn't mean that we
say, 'Hide everything in Hangar 18, we're getting ready to
open the doors.' It means the whole program gets their
doors opened.
If you want to be part of it, if you've got some skill and
knowledge, you make sure we get your name and address. I'll
guarantee you that when we're in the office, you'll be one
that will be one of a party of a hundred. You think that
this inspection in Iraq is going to be in detail? We're
going to get to the bottom. We need to know if the aliens
are here to help us GOOD. If they are here to not nibble on
our ankles, we need to know that, don't we? So let's just
get to the truth. Isn't the truth a very precious
commodity? But, it sure isn't easy.

Hi,
The following is a brief coverage of the recent, 26th September 1992,
Quest International UFO Conference. The speakers were Antony Dodd,
Graham W.Birdsall, Colin Andrews, Armen Victorian and late
non-scheduled guest Bob Deane.
Tony Dodd spoke of in great detail of the abduction cases and
mentioned the 'linda' case but when into a considerable amount of
detail about one particulat case of a woman, from the North of
England, who had been abducted. She agreed to be regressed by Tony
Dodd and spoke of her ordeal whilst being videod. She spoke of the
type of being mentioned in many such cases. These beings examined her
and shone a red light in her face, they pushed a glass rod through
her navel and extracted some type of fluid. The woman, not named, was
getting very anxious under regression at this point and was brought
out of the hypnosis. When this woman came out of her regression she
complained of her face being very hot and was rubbing it, her face
was bright red on one side, the side she claimed the being shone the
red light. He also showed slides of a supposed implant which had been
removed from a man who had been subjected to an abduction.
Tony Dodd also showed some video footage taken by, I believe, an
American camera crew and was of a crop field infont of a tumuli near
Stonehendge. On the video shown was footage in broad daylight of a
luminous object in the sky flashing on and off. From infront of the
tumuli in the field and from seemingly behind the tumuli appeared
four disk like bright shapes, similar to the phenomenon filmed by
Steve Alexander at Milk Hill and by the German students. These disks
moved rapidly from their hiding place one after the other and shot up
to join with the bright object in the sky. All object took different
routes to the skybound phenomenon and as soon as the last one was at
this point the ariel bright object dis-appeared , disks as well. It
looked very much of a scheduled 'pickup' and the video was shown at
one frame at a time and clearly showed some definate positive moves
from the disks to rendevous with the bright ariel object. If I can
find out who shot the film I will post the details but I am sure this
film will appear again.
The next speaker Was Graham Birdsall who spoke of the advanced
technology involved and conjectured at Area 51. Very interesting
footage of the B2 aircraft but the main gist of the lecture was, whre
has all the money gone to, surely not all into the B2.
Colin Andrews talk was as usual captivating. He spoke of the previous
years cricles, spoke of and showed slides of the current, 92, seasons
circles and was very forceful to get one opinion over. He said that
the inteligence community was very active at present in the crop
circle/ufo area and warned everyone to be very careful. He spoke of a
forthcoming Equinox program , British Science program, having been
brought forward by a couple of months to address the fact that there
is something goinf to happen in a matter of months. He spoke of Money
and Governments being of no use anymore in the close future and
everone must 'know where you are, know who you are, .. '
This he said was very important and would be needed for us to
survive.He said 'we are on the edge of a golden, a golden edge, this
is our moment' The audience were transfixed by this understandably. He then
continued to talk of the events that happened on the night of
26th/27th July 1992 at Woodborough Hill , Alton Barnes, Wiltshire.
The team consisted of Colin Andrews, Stephen Greer and others. They
were split into two group, one group were located in a field near by
these were remote viewers and the other group on Woodborough Hill,
these had the equipment. The night carried on into the early hours
and Colin Andrews started to leave by car down a lane, the group on
Woodborough Hill heard a loud crackling noise coming from the rear of
his car, he did not. Some others began to leave. As one small group
of people started to leave they saw an array of lights only five of
six hundred feet away from where they were. These lights were
rotating anti clockwise around what appear to be the base of a
structured object. Above the array of lights were three amber spheres
all part of the same array. The object moved along about 30ft above
the ground and silhouetted trees as it passed. The object then
positioned itself and showed a collection of many lights in a trangle
formation that looked like a christmas tree. At this point Dr. Greer
did not have his camera of powerful beams to hand as they had packed
up for the night. He managed to get the bright powerful beam and
directed it at the object, flashing once. The object then seemed to
respond by turning off all lights and back on again. Dr.Greer then
did the same thing but with two flashes, the object responded by
doing turning its lights off then on again twice. At this point a red
ball then parted company with the object and moved off. The event
then terminated very qucikly, (Colin Andrews words). There is much
much more to this story(again CAs words). Fascinating stuff but hard
to prove although there is suggested to have been a group of four
completely independant witnesses that saw the red ball.
Next up was Armen Victorian. He spoke of and played audio tapes of
various inteligence community stories. He played the tape, very poor
quality, of a conversation between himslef and a guy caled Jim
Snarbel [sp], Mr Snarbel who is also a supposed crop circle hoaxer
claimed to be with the CIA,(over the phone ??) Anyway this statement
has caused some controvercial times within the crop circle community
and has been the subject of great debates and arguments. Who is Jim
Snarbel?
The last speaker was a guest speaker not billed to talk. He was an
American ex Army official, Bob Deane. He claimed to have worked at
Cosmic Top Secret level of clearance within the US Army and was privy
to some extraordinary documents on UFOs. He firstly said that he was
aware of one of the audience being from the Inteligence community
although he did not know who it was and welcomed him/her. He said
that he was going to break the secrecy code he had signed as he
believed people had a right to know what goes on. He spoke of one
document in particular that had only about 15 copies. This document
was initiated by a British Air Marshall called Sir Thomas Pike who
was at that time the Deputy Air Allied Commander of Europe and worked
directly with General Lander Mendleson [sp]who was Supreme Allied
Commander of Europe. The documents subject was that large numbers of
metallic circular craft of enormous size were flying at extremely
high altitude had been sighted over Europe and Russia. He said that
at the time, in 1963, these craft nearly triggered world war 3 as at
one time the Soviets believed these craft to be from us. The study
into these documents was performed by American/French and English
Univercities and Government groups and classified as Cosmic Top
Secret. The document was split into the first part, an inch and a
half thick and included 10 annexes. There were annexes on Radar and
Electromagnetic effects, Optical and Light Analysis, Photographic and
Holographic Analysis, Historical Research, Metalurgical and
Techinical Analysis, Atmospheric Physics, Biological Analysis of
xxxx (not sure what he said). In the report also contained complete
coverage of a crashed UFO in northern Germany on 1962 where 12 small
bodies were retrieved. One of the annexes was on phsycological
studies and phsycological impact, one on Socialogical effects and
Implecations and the last one was on Theological Implecations.
He spoke of the fact that the earth had been under scrutiny by
several extra terrestrial civilizations and were were and still are
under some type of genetic correction. He also spoke of a 'golden'
time soon, probably within the next fifteen years when the world will
be very different and we are in for some very difficult times,not all
people will survive the changes. We will interact with intergalactic
entities and some people will end up not living on this planet. He
believed very much in re-incarnation and that one would be incarnated
on another planet. His closing speak was that what is coming up is
very frightening and we must prepare for it.
The above talks were pretty wacky and could be passed as cranky but
they were well received by the whole audience, of about 500 people,
and was an excellent conference. For 5 pounds it was well worth it
and they can count on me being there next time.

PS. Has anyone viewed the Bob Lazar video and if so what did you
think of it. Is he telling the truth. I was inclined to believe the
technical physics stuff not knowing any better. Can this be proved or
disproved by physics. If he is telling a load of rubbish has someone
pointed this out from a scientific viewpoint ie can't create
antimatter that way?

Hi,
Can anyone confirm if the video of the Milk Hill UFO sighting of a
disk in broad daylight taken by Steve Alexander in 1990 has evey been
analysed. The was a rumour from Colin Andrews that NASA were very
interested in it and were going to analyse it. For those who have not
seen it it is of a bright shining disk that moves around a crop field
next to a 'pictogram' at Milk Hill near Alton Barnes.

Does anyone here have a photo or artist's conception of the TR-3A "Black
Manta"? Is there a GIF file extant? Can anyone at least direct me to an
issue of AvWeek or any other magazine that featured a photo of this craft?

SORRY, YOUR POLICY WON'T COVER DAMAGE BY SPACE ROCKS
Michelle Knapp will have to find a new way to get around for a
while, thanks to a 30 pound meteor that slammed into her parked
car, passing right through and leaving a small crater underneath.
The meteor came from a shower called the Draconids, a bright
display of falling space debris seen every October 9th, according
to National Weather Service meteorologist Rich Mamrosh.
Sightings of streaking fireballs in the sky were reported late
Friday in western Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Virginia, West
Virginia, the District of Columbia, and North Carolina.
Knapp, an 18 year old high school senior in suburban Peekskill, was
at home when she heard a loud crash.
"The noise of it literally shook the windows," she said. "It
sounded like something hit the house."
She and a neighbor went outside and saw the smashed trunk of her
1980 Chevy Malibu, a hole straight through and a small crater in
the ground underneath. "We felt the rock and it was pretty hot,"
Knapp said.
A meteor is a piece of space rock that begins to burn because of
intense heat caused by the friction of hitting the atmosphere.
Police weighed the meteorite, which was about 1 foot in diameter,
she said. Scientists from Columbia University came to investigate.
"My car is totaled," she said. "I'm upset but at the same time its
kind of exciting. I bought the car from my grandmother for 100
bucks, so financially I'm not set back to far."
Needless to say, the car was not insured for meteor damage.
