The very first thing that comes to mind here is whether
overloaded high-tension or low-tension wires were nearby. Since
this incident occurred at a roadside, nearby power lines may
well have been present.
If such lines are overloaded or badly insulated, fatal arcing
can occur FROM THE GROUND at a considerable distance from the
power lines. This has happened often in our country, in rural
areas where public utilities have quietly overloaded their
lines. The resulting discharges *can easily electrocute
livestock* over 1/4 mile from the "leaky" H/T lines. I bet that
Hungarian utility agencies are guilty of the same practice...

Personally, I suspect that this poor man was electrocuted thru
his own urine. The "ball lightning" witnessed by the victim's
wife may have been ST. ELMO's FIRE -- an ungrounded corona
around the victim in the damp, pre-thunderstorm conditions. The
hole in his heel and tennis shoe indicates where the current
finally grounded itself.
One of my uncles saw this happen to a young man in Eastern
Canada (PEI) in the early 1960s. The area was just being
electrified and the power lines must have been practically
smoking (in fact, there were near-catastrophic forest fires that
could have been cause by the things, now that I remember that
summer). Anyway, the victim had been working with several other
men in a field -- when they finished, they washed up at a
washbasin on an outdoor table, about 100 yards from the overhead
power line(s) beside the road. When the poor guy had washed up,
he emptied the basin on the ground and was electrocuted. As in
the Hungarian case, a hole was burned through the heel of his
boot. He lived for about 15 minutes, then died.
So Sheldon, the next time you drive past a pasture where the
cattle are all wearing those silly rubber boots -- don't stop to
relieve yourself.

PS -- Weird as all this is, genuine SHC is much, much weirder.
The Mary Reeser case is so bizarre as to be beyond belief. She
was INCINERATED in a chair, and so was a perfect circle of the
floor that the chair was on. Coroner estimated temps of 3000 degrees
plus. Almost NO OTHER DAMAGE to the room or the house, and
there was NO FIRE.

You bet. They're not the only ones, either. Vallee in
Confrontations goes into considerable detail about UFO "sunburn".
The Brazilian cases he described were so bizarre, however, that
nuclear radiation alone does not seem to account for some of
them.
One horrible case resembled high-speed leprosy -- the victim
literally disintegrated within two days. It was painless but he
was conscious until very close to his death.

Good question, and I don't know. I do know that Jupiter is so
massive that its core should be hypothetically composed of solid
hydrogen -- a form of H2 that we cannot synthesize here on earth.
Perhaps there is a "critical mass" of solid H2 needed to get a
star going??
I don't know, though. Maybe someone else here? (Jim Graham???)

Jerry Decker at KeelyNet says that there are some theories that nuclear
reactions take place within cells. His own thinking on SHC is that it
might be caused by these nuclear reactions going out of control due to an
imbalance in body chemistry.
There's also the Allende story about SHC caused by interference with the
body's electromagnetic (or ???) field by an external field. (If Allende
didn't make the whole thing up like he once said he did.)
I'm puzzled as to what this has to do with crop circles, though. Certainly
there seems to be heat involved, but there's already the plasma vortex
theory and even the orbital maser testing theory that could explain that.
There is the odd matter of the radioisotopes described in Sheldon's recent
message, however. I'll have to ask Jerry if he can dig up any details on
the 'biological transmutation' (as it's called) theories. (Then there's
the question of what, other than hoaxes, produces such fancy patterns.
Have any of the fancy patterns been proven to be anything other than
hoaxes? If they have, it looks like we're stuck with either the alien
intelligence theory or the maser testing.)
A final note on plants and mysterious energy: I'm pretty sure I read
somewhere that Wilhelm Reich's orgone accumulator design was inspired by
the cell walls of plants. The orgone accumulator boxes would always be
warmer on the inside than on the outside for no apparent reason. If plant
cells, like the orgone boxes, are transducers for some sort of energy
field, what would happen if they were exposed to a much higher than normal
level of that energy? (I'm not going to pretend to have any ideas on what
would cause such a field!)

Thanks for your reply and comments on the Hungarian ball lightning
case. I certainly agree with your hypothesis that "leaky"
power lines could have been the culprit in this situation, IF they

The reason I brought this case up is that one of the main theories
advanced in the past, although without adequate proof, has been that
ball lightning somehow intruded into the room of the SHC victim.
For further information, this case was investigated by ball-lightning
expert Dr. George Egely of the Central Institute of Physics, Budapest
and was reported at the Second Ball Lightning Conference held in
Budapest in June 1990.
Amazingly, there are still many physicists who insist that ball
lightning can not exist, despite many eye-witness reports, and a
few photographs.
Like you said Clark, for safety's sake, when outdoors in inclement weather,
be sure to urinate _only_ into a well insulated, properly grounded receptacle.

I talked to Aileen a few weeks ago and subscribed to her Journal. Let's see
if I can describe the group succinctly....Definitely contactee and New Age,
with a belief in channeled material. The Journal is called "The Missing
Link" and is largely full of reprints, mostly sort-of UFO-related, but
rarely with attribution. I'm sure some of this thing violates copyright,
Physically it looks pretty bad with many typefaces and poor reproduction.

with UFOs. Looks like a repirint.
"Without a Name," by Bob Anthony, on how not having names is a good idea.
Look, I know I haven't done this justice cause it's a quick note, but I hope
you can get a feel for the publication, and therefore the organization from
this short sketch. Please permit me to congratulate myself for the
incredible restraint I have exhibited with this post. ;-)

An associate asked me the other day to see if anyone can chase a
reference in the bible for him. He was reading Strieber's
"Transformation" page 109 about a memory of someone dropping "three
drops of a clear liquid..onto my tounge." My associate has a
recollection of there being a biblical reference to an "angel of
revelation" "shall touch the elected three times on the forehead." Can
anyone help with the source of this biblical reference (if it is in
fact from the bible.)?
