Clark,

This was quite an unexpected message. I had a mild migrane for the last few
days. It has finally subsided or is just waiting for another stealth attack.
I've noticed some changes in brain activity during and after migranes.
During them I become quite a lucid dreamer. I have found that during and
after migranes or some sort of great stress I experience an abundance of
what I will call psychical impressions. I think most people sometimes dream
of things that will come in the future but there are those as myself that
often have hints of minor and occasionally major events which will happen
sometime after the dream.
The thing that ties migranes to these psychic impressions is that I also
have them when I am awake while I have migrance of some other type of
physical or emotional stress. I don`t think this singles migranes out as
the cause of psychic or other phenomenon.
If you have ever had a migrane you would understand just what it can do.
I have had them for days at a time and they some have been so intence as to
affect other mental and physical processes.
Imagine being hit in the head a half-dozen times with a baseball bat and
then having all the blood rush there and create an imence throbing pressure
in your head. Doesn't sound pleasant does it?

For all practical purposes I can see no reason to have questions about
extra-terrestrials in relation to migranes on any questionaire. I have no
knowledge of any possible correlation. There is a very slight possibility
that all of those people who have experienced UFO related phenomenon all
suffer from delusions created by migrane headaches.(hehe)
Migranes can create dilusions though. I have not experiences anything vivid
during a migrane. Sometime I have mood swings and afterward there is a kind
of peace(void) in my mind. My mind becomes quiet.

I hope that this helps.

Best,
James

Michael,

That is a great coincidence. I remember distinctly that on August
10, 1984 at somwhere between 9:30 to 10:00 pm there was a large fireball
, with similar description, flying over my house. At the time, I was
sitting at my desk in front of a large window. Suddently, something
grabbed my attention. As I looked out the window, I saw a large
light blue-green sphere flying west to east. Automatically, I ran out
of the house and in to the front yard in time to see it fade behind the
trees.

I lived in a small rual area in east-central Kentucky. The area
was not extremely populated so there were not many reports of the
sighting. However, I do know of at least two other that saw the same
thing.

What are the chances of the object either being the same thing?
Were there any reported or scheduled showers for that night? I am
clueless.

The following is an excerpt of a letter to the editor of Orbiter Magazine
written by Bruce Maccabee on July 19, and an open letter of rebuttal by Rex
Salisberry dated August 6.
It's no big major deal, but Rex asked me to publish his letter on our
nets. When I can, I'll contact Bruce to see if he has a response.

From Bruce's letter.....

While doing the research for my paper I found that over a dozen people
have claimed to have seen the object that appears in Ed's photos. Some are
well-known (Charles and Dori Somerby, Jeff Thompson, Billy Zammit, Fenner
and Shirley McConnell, Arthur and Mary Hufford, Truman Holcomb) and others
are less well-known (several wish to remain anonymous). However, one of the
witnesses was a complete surprise to me. Unfortunately I didn't discover
his testimony until after I had completed the MUFON paper so his name is
not in the list of witnesses in that paper. During an interview for the _A
Current Affair_ TV show that was aired in early 1990, he compared what he
saw to "Ed's craft." He said, "what he (Ed) had on the photographs looked
exactly like what I saw."
Who was this surprise witness? None other
than.....Rex Salisberry.

From Rex.....

AN OPEN LETTER TO BRUCE MACCABEE

Dear Bruce,

It has recently come to my attention that you have been spreading the
false story that I have "testified" to having seen a UFO which resembled
"Ed's craft." You cite as your source an interview for the _A Current
Affair_ TV show that was aired in early 1990. As you should well know, the
context of my comments for that interview dealt with the red light sighting
at the Pensacola MUFON meeting in September 1989. My comments in that
regard were accurate. The dim red glow which I saw in the sky did resemble
the dim red image on the photograph allegedly taken by Walters outside of
the meeting place that night. Charles Flannigan and Gary Watson were also
involved with the subject interview which was conducted in Flannigan's
home. Both of these individuals should be able to confirm the context of
the interview. Copies of the unedited video tapes of the interviews are
also available to refute your flase claims.
I have never seen, nor have I claimed to have seen, an unidentified
flying object which resembled any of the photos shown in Walters' book. I
have seen the UFO model which was found in the attic of the Walters' former
residence and it does resemble some of the photos in the book. Perhaps this
may have caused some of your confusion.
Dr. Willy Smith, Mr. Phil Klass and others have assured me that, down
through the years, they have considered you to be a man of high
professional integrity. If they are right, I believe that it would be
appropriate for you to publicly correct the false assertions which you have
been making. A letter of retraction printed in the MUFON Journal would be a
good start. I will not ask for an apology from you, but will just chalk the
whole issue up as another of your mistakes.

Sincerely,
Rex C. Salisberry

Do you believe that the Ed Walters photos are real or hoaxed? Why?

Do you believe that the Ed Walters case is true? In part true? Hoaxed?
Why?

If you think that the Ed Walters case is true, do you think that the
debunkers should be held legally accountable for their efforts to disprove
it?

If you believe that the Ed Walters case is a hoax, do you think that the
"true believers" should be held legally accountable for their participation

On another topic... Linda Moulton Howe has just completed a 1 hour

Monday, August 5, 1991:
_________________________________________________________________
UFO NEAR SHUTTLE PUZZLES NASA SCIENTISTS
by Jeff Franks (Reuters)

Neither a bird nor a plane nor even, apparently, Superman, the
identity of the mysterious object that floated beside the shuttle
Atlantis earlier in its mission continues to elude NASA officials.

The object, about 5 feet long and slightly resembling a car bumper,
was videotaped by the astronauts Saturday as it sailed along
between the shuttle and Earth.

A NASA spokeswoman said Sunday that the object was no longer
visible from the shuttle. But the mystery remained.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration believes the
object was nothing more than debris lost during the deployment of
a communications satellite Friday, but acknowledges it cannot be
certain what was out there.

Nearly identical objects have been seen on previous shuttle flights
from which satellites were deployed, flight director Phil Engelauf
said.

He said at a Sunday news briefing at Johnson Space Center in
Houston that NASA engineers are still scratching their heads over
the object.

"We looked at the tape again and again last night and compared it
to videotape from another mission"
, Engelauf said. "Except to say
it looks identical to the debris we saw before, I can't give you
anything new."

Whatever it is, he said, it has not interfered with previous
missions or threatened this one.

Hoaxed.

Same response. His case is based on his photos and his testimony. Since
photo #6 is a palpable hoax, I have no reason to believe his testimony.

If it turns out to be true, I think any debunker who made any overt
statement that turned out NOT to be true should be held liable. I include
myself in that statement. I also think Dr. Willy Smith should be held
accountable, if not legally, at least to the rest of the UFO community,
REGARDLESS of the outcome.

Those who can be proven to have willfully and knowingly participated in the
perpetration of a hoax should have whatever applicable charges filed against
them...although technically it is not a crime to perpetrate a UFO hoax, as
far as I'm aware, there may be ancillary crimes involved.

I'd have to check on this, but I believe that Van de Kamp may
have won a Nobel Prize for his observations re: Barnard's Star &

To my knowledge, there has been no direct observation of any

Then again, epileptic seizures are characterized by general,
cascading discharges of synapses throughout the entire brain
(grand mal seizures are, anyway). Such discharges would create
characteristic EM fields. Maybe the dog's brain receives the
signals? "Hears" the grand mal episode before its actual onset?
Without actually seeing or hearing the human in the throes of the
seizure?

For that matter, maybe your dog "hears" you thinking about your
commands before you vocalize them...

This whole subject is fascinating & we're just scratching the
surface with hard evidence. Electrochemical brain activity is
is highly individualized and very unique. In can vary
drastically when the same person says the same thing in two
different languages. I.e.: "Bonjour" produces totally different
discharge patterns from "Guten Tag", "Good Morning", "Hi ya'll!",
etc.

I keep thinking of old Tesla, who said (with his quixotic smile)
that radio, sound, microwave & other radiations were all really
the same thing -- and he could hear most of them!!!

Best,
Clark
