Hi there again,

* Re: Stan Deyo working at STW-9, why don't you ask him yourself?
Write to him at PO Box 71, Kalamunda WA 6076. Ask him everything
else you want to know at the same time.

* Re: Finding an entry on Tesla in Encyclopedia Britannica - Well
done, but compare that entry size with the entry on Edison. Then
compare the list of patents of Tesla's with the list of patents of
Edison's. Did you know Tesla gave us AC/DC electricity, and wireless
transmission (radio)? We are still taught in schools that Marconi
"invented" the radio. Marconi (who studied under Tesla for a while)
merely took an existing patent of Tesla's and made an use for it.
Tesla sued Marconi in the high court (USA) and won!

* Re: Tesla being "one of ours". Tesla became an American citizen, a
status he cherished very much.

* Re: How could USA, USSR etc keep alien treaties secret? Answer: The
same way they keep everything else you don't know about secret.

* Re: What did Tesla invent that would be suppressed? Well, Tesla
devised a method of transmitting and receiving electrical energy,
with negligilbe loss of energy during transmission, WITHOUT WIRES.
If you take the time to chase these patent numbers up (patent #'s
721790 24/6/1899; 729812 8/9/1899; 725749 1/8/1899) you will find
that the patents exist, but are withheld by the American Military for
"reasons of national security". There are many other devices too
numerous to mention here. I suggest you read Dr. Nikola Tesla -
Complete Patents" Compiled by John T. Ratzlaff, published by the
Tesla Book Company, USA. (1983).

* Re: Reading list of Tesla books. Contact The Esoteric Sciences
Bookshop, 475 Elizabeth St, Surry Hills, NSW 2010. Ph: (02) 698 8586,
or (02) 319 3101. Ask them to send you a reading list. Maybe you
could try the Theosophical Society Bookshop in Melbourne also.

Happy reading

Paul,
What's this about the Hypogeum? Didnt we go there as kids? What have
you heard about it. I would love to know.
By the way, you may be interested to read a couple of messages

Hi Paul,

Sounds very interesting. It seems there are a few books around that
are published as "
FACTION" (fiction "based" on facts.).

Anyone know where this can be obtained in Melbourne?

+Jim, this may strain credibility, but...
+
+It happens with people's **plants**, too! A botanist in California was
+measuring the electrochemical activity of various types of plants. He had
+them hooked up to simple EEG monitoring recorders 24 hours a day, and he was
+comparing the paper tapes of EEG activity in his plants with daylight cycles
+and other data to see what influence certain factors had on plant growth &
+activity.
+
+Then, one day, the botanist was involved in a car crash several miles from
+his home. When he eventually got home (much later the day of the crash), he
+looked at his experiment and found that the EEG monitors **had gone wild**
+at the instant of the crash. ALL OF THE PLANTS REGISTERED REACTIONS.

Doesn't this sort of thing go all the way back to Cleve Backster (sp?) ?
(Maybe what you described *was* Backster, I can't think of the details
right now.)

Actually, I find the plants more credible than the dogs. The plants, after
all, could simply be acting as a transducer. The dogs, on the other hand,
would have to have some way of associating thoughts with whatever signals
they receive.

(As far as plants as a transducer for some unknown energy are concerned,
didn't Reich model his orgone accumulators after the cell walls of plants?)

I know this isn't this place for dialogs outside the UFO spectrum.
However, I just had to note that some recent research shows that a
certain Dr. Nathan B. Stubblefield may have invented radio before
both Marconi and Tesla. The first record of Stubblefield's wireless
invention occurred in 1892.His wireless phone seemingly used an
inductive type system with a large loop antenna. Since he was
somewhat secretive, his invention was not noticed.

Does anyone know where I can get in touch with Leslie Watkins, the
author of *Alterantive III*, the book that explains what's been
happening to all the disappearing British scientists? One source
tells me that the book is extrememly hard to find now and that
Watkins was booked for a guest spot on 21st Century Radio with Bob
Oechsler but at the last minute had to cancel due to illness.
Question if there are some odd circumstances involved in the last
minute cancellation. Watkins is supposed to be living in New
Zealand now and may be teaching Journalism at a college there. His
story sounds extremely interesting and I'd like to discuss it with
him re an Omni magazine article.
Anyone have any leads or background info on this?
Thanks!

I am disappointed that more healthy scepticism cannot be found in this
newsgroup. Seldom found is the article that doesn't swallow government
coverup of dealings with alien beings hook line and sinker. I would be
more than happy to find that alien beings did exist, and that there has
been contact wih humans, but there has been no information presented here
or anywhere that is not wholly circumstantial. tial. Also, careful reading of
material presented as fact here (see discussion of Lazar's talk and the free
energy system below) casts considerable doubt on the integrity of their
words. As for the "
Channelers", I will not even dignify them with a
discussion.

First, regarding Lazar:

He claims that he is a physicist whose job was to reverse engineer a gravita-
tional drive system. It was reported to consist of an element that emits
a weak gravity wave (element 115), a resonance chamber in which standing
gravitational waves are set-up, and a system to amplify those waves. The
drives basic function is to warp the space-time geometry between the ship's
position and its destination.

In review, let me say that gravity waves have been postulated to exist, but
have never been observed. (A recent LandSat Photo of the Kuwait Oil fires
is claimed to contain ripples showing gravity waves, but they do not fit any
picture of gravity waves as proposed so far). In any case, the waves may
or may not exist; let us suppose that they do, and that they have wavelengths
between that shown in the LandSat photos and that proposed by several popular
theories: between a Kilometer or so and lengths of the order of planetary
distances. A resonance chamber for such waves would have to enclose distances
of half the wavelength. The ship described by Lazar does not contain a device
of this size. Also, if the ship is able to warp space-time over large
distances, if it like every other warper ever observed in nature, it would
create a potential well large enough to suck he earth and its entire atmo-
sphere into it. Very unlikely! If you couple this with the fact that Lazar
was unable to recall the frequency of the gravity wave which is THE basis for
the entire drive system and all its components, his story appears very
unlikely.
He wasn't able to recall whether the frequency was large or small.

Second, look at the paper presented for the "
public good". The entire basis
for
his generator is based on a situation which is completely UNTRUE. In fact,
it violates one of Maxwell's equations, and does not work experimentally. The
fact that it does not work experimentally puzzled physicists from the early
1800's until around 1880. It was easily explained after Faraday's Law was
discovered. The basic idea is that a disk is placed in a magnetic field,
oriented so that the field lines are perpendicular to the surface of the
conducting disk. It is then claimed that if the disk is spun, a potential
will develop between the center of the disk and the outside edge. This is
just plain WRONG. While it is true that if a potential is placed across
the distance from the center to the outer edge, a current will flow, and
the disk will spin, the converse is not true. Only in the case of a varying
magnetic field can a potential develop. (Faraday's Law: Curl of E = -dB/dt).
This is high school physics! (Well, maybe first year college level).
It is claimed that the potential that develops is the same as when the disk
is attached to the magnet and spun. I will give him that, but only in that
they are both identically ZERO.

Well, I'm sure that I have put enough flammable material in his posting.
In short, I would love there to be aliens around, but give me concrete proof!
Thanks for your time and please DON'T BE DUPED.

Rusty

I and my family saw one that fits this description exactly about three
years ago, flying North to South. It was the size of a penny held at
arm's length. It was seen by maybe a hundred others and earned a brief blip
in the local news media. It was *very* fast, and I may have seen it a total
of a second or less. My family saw it first. We were out on a walk and just
happened to be in the right place. I've always assumed this was just a rock
that was bigger than most and got a little lower in the atmosphere before
it completely burned up. It was definitely blue and green, and i distinctly
rememebr that "
flames" were trailing the main body. Although it certainly
*looked* drmatic, i think these are pretty disappointing UFOs. Nobody waved
