Well, is it possible that at least some of those are people just
jumping on the proverbial bandwagon in an effort to get some sort of
attention? It wouldn't be that hard for someone to say "Oh yeah, I saw
that too!".

I wonder why debunkers are the way they are.. they have this huge,
immense, paranoia of any remote possibility that aliens exist..
Probably the type that gets culture shock way too easily.
Well, I can say with absolute certainity that UFO's exist..
The reason I say this is because UFO stands for "Unidentified Flying
Object".. they ARE unidentified flying objects. What they are is
the question.

Holy cattle mutilations, Blatman!
Have I been doing this for that long? Geez, I guess it
keeps me offa the streets. Hey, thanks for the clue
about the IUR, was wondering what that acronym was...
I take it that you've noticed Adam-Stanislav's retorts
to Timmy B's psuedo-moderations of late? And A-S's
gotten peeved about the "intellectual content" of his
echo, I wonder if he's beginning to get hip to why we
banned that kind of "problem" over here on Paranet....
Veteran? Now I'll have to go back and load in the
older texts and MT.ARC's to see how long I've been
pumping this bilge out, hehehe....
Oh yeah, did I tell you that I talked to Timmy one
fine evening? He explained his activities as being
purposely provocative, sent me a Pawlicki.txt on
hyperspace. Text was long/tedious and very little of it was
about hyperspace, someday I'll finish reading it and
report a little about it. Seems Timmy is quite the
independent thinker/tinker and can be a serious listener.
I spent the better part of the hour explaining the
physical processes that must be involved with the current
UFO drives. He was all ears there, but still difficult
to talk with, as far as getting a word in edgewise, not
unlike his postings over on Fido UFO.
Still, he seemed kinda pleasant when confronted with his
arrogant aroma, wonder what else he's posted today...
....and?

JS> Oh, come on, Kurt, I didn't mean for the veterans to shut up! :-)
JS> IUR is the International UFO Reporter, the official organ of the Cente
JS> UFO Studies. It comes out bi-monthly, and while its slightly flawed, i
JS> still a damn sight more credible than most other publications.
Well, where does one get a subscription, and how much does it cost?

*****IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT*****
ParaNet Information Service is preparing a future international
release titled "The Estimate of the UFO Situation."
The purpose of this work is to establish a common understanding
and the creation of standards among the various interested
scietific, research and investigative groups, organizations and
persons who have a serious interest in gaining an understanding
of the UFO mystery.
The late Dr. J. Allen Hynek strongly urged a unified front be
established among the scientific community to study the
overwhelming data coming in. ParaNet, through its international
computer network, can provide the necessary link to the UFO
community that will overcome geographic and institutional borders
to bring everyone together under one roof to achieve a unified
front.
Our plans are nearly complete. Over the last year, we have been
working toward bridging the gap between the various organizations
in the United States and overseas. Communications represents the
biggest setback that the UFO research community has experienced.
The need for an open and free exchange of information has been
sufficiently demonstrated as the answer to forward momentum in
this important research.
At this time, ParaNet is forming a Board of Review. This Board's
main function would be to promulgate investigative standards for
UFO researchers that operate through ParaNet. To develop
criteria for characterizing events as anomalous and relevant; to
apply the scientific method in reviewing cases submitted to the
Board; to issue ratings of cases using the ParaNet rating scheme
(or whatever suitable scheme the Board devises on its own); and
to advise ParaNet as to what can and cannot be said about a
particular case, from the scientific standpoint, when we are
called upon to divulge details of a case to the media.
As to the "Estimate," ParaNet is accepting thesis papers from all
serious researchers who wish to contribute to this future
release. We are interested in covering all aspects of UFOlogy
with emphasis upon the historicity of the phenomenon, propulsion
and guidance theories, theological aspects, abduction phenomenon,
cattle mutilations, etc.
This release is being sent via ParaNet's electronic network and
through U.S. Mail to various research people who have specialized
fields of study.
Contributions can be sent to ParaNet via several methods as
listed below. The deadline for this is July 31, 1990.
