Why does he have the right to tell us what we can say and we can't
say? Has he ever heard of the first ammendmant? Bring up that fact
and see what he says...

I think that at least 70% of the messages on that echo are garbage. I only
carry it for that 30% of interesting messages. ParaNet attracts people who are
interested in the same subject as we are; the other echo attracts everyone. If
we were to create a backbone echo we too would eventually run into similar
problems.
Well that's my 2 cents.

Don,
This is the type of message I was talking about during our voice conversation:
It is a very subtle ad for Paranet.

It happened at night, around 9 PM. I'm not aware of any neighboors
hearing anything.

For my part, I consider the ban the best thing that could have happened, and I
intend to continue to honor it. I can only suggest that others in ParaNet do
the same. Why stick our noses in where we're not welcome? What are we trying
to prove? Those who truly appreciate what we have to offer will find us,
ESPECIALLY IF WE CONTINUE TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF OUR SERVICE. This means
being the first with the best. The word leaks out quickly that "ParaNet has
this file," "ParaNet discovered that piece of info", and the users will come
running. FIDO UFO remains fertile ground for some good information and good
users, but we have a better setup here, more dedicated people, and best of
all, a standard of conduct that prevents melees like what has taken place in
FIDO UFO.

The moderator is the final word. I would say the board is for paranet
information, and although politics seep into events by way of coverups, or
misinformation (disinformation), generally woodwards work and book reviews
that have nothing to do with UFO's or paranormal activities don't belong
here. It's possible that messages were sent to others via netmail that we did
not see. At any rate I think it would be best to avoid getting embroiled
(baked or fried?) in politics unrelated to UFO research.

Well, I just viewed the Inside Edition 05/29/90 and they had an
interview of Bob Lazar. Also shown was some footage of some alledged
UFO's zipping through the sky. Here's what I think it was, since
there was little in the way of news...
The lights dancing in the sky (and side of a mountain) were exactly
that! Bob L. or the reporters used a laser to simulate this effect.
At one point, the light moves far into the clouds then onto the side
of a mountain. I one were to do an intensity analysis of the light
as it seemingly weaved through the air, the gamma curve would tell
you what the light's distance actually was. This was a fraudulent
attempt to convey to America that UFO's are real. Perhaps Inside
Edition went to the trouble to generate this hoax, or maybe Bob Lazar
committed this act. In any case, the rest of the show was about
how the government is covering up evidence of extra-terrestrial
technology. Bob even took a lie-detector test, seemingly proving
his credibility, reasserting claims that Edward Teller was
instrumental in Lazar being hired to work at Groom Lake.
Interestingly, Teller granted an interview to Inside Edition and
asserted that he didn't remember Bob Lazar.
Whups! I just turned on the tape again...the name of this show
is Inside Report. George Knapp and Stanton Friedman make brief
appearences in this report....that's about all I can report
for now.
Any comments?

Don: As far as the story about the South African UFO crash in the
Arcturus catalog-- make sure to get the MAY catalog. I just got the
June one and flipped thru it. I don't think that review was in this
time. -- John

------Mike Corbin-----------
About your post concerning the need for facts and information on
Unexplained Aerial Phenomenon......it has its merits. I think that
one of the problems I have seen is the "coffee cliche'" type of
mentality that seems to dominate the electronic UFO forums. I
have spent the last 18 months running here and there across the US
looking into various interesting events and have come up with very
little in the way of hard evidence. It is almost like some of the
people involved in UAPs(Unidentified/unexplained aerial phenomenon)
are more interested in this group verus that group opions than in
the boring work of fact finding.
In one way or the other I've looked into the history/stories
offered by the "hot" UFO freaks like Cooper, Lazar, Lear.....
ad nausea.....and found very little to sink my teeth into. I
keep asking, "Where's the beef???" My main interest is
propulsion systems for aerospace vechicles and I keep hoping
that tell-tale evidence will be found that will be a clue
as to what powers/causes these phenomenon. So until the
field of UAP investigation stops being a beacon for people
looking for a National Enquirer type sensationalism....we'll
get no where in hard evidence collection and classification.
We need objective collection and reporting of UAPs as they
happen....not after weeks/months/years of sifting thru garbage
put out by individuals that have some agenda/position/belief
to promote.
------F-22/23---------
This new fighter is the designation for the ATF(Advanced
Tactical Fighter). This aircraft is supposed to be the
end-all and be-all of modern fighter planes. Super tech
junk with all the bells and whisles. Most of the info
about it is coming from AW&ST and Defense Electronics....
to name but a few public mags. Word around the defense
industry is that metal has been bent and the thing will
be displayed in public in June.
