I would quibble with you assesment that the CIA is watched like a hawk. The
oversight committees are often like the proverbial three monkees. One thing
the CIA has been consistently good at is arriving at the wrong conclusions.
Recent editorial in the newspaper spelled out how the CIA had claimed SOviet
Defense spending was 25% of Soviet GNP along with some other economic info.
Prviate groups with considerabley less resourses then the CIA have been saying
for years that the actual numbers were far lower. Now witlh the new openess in
USSR the real facts have been determined and the private group was right on the
mark and the CIA was way off. IF this was the first time the CIA was caught
with it's pants down it might be excused but they have been wrong in VIetnam,
Iran, and who know where else. Too often they tailor thier intelligence
findings to suit the presidents desires rather then reality, and sometimes they
are just wrong. Also, there are many things that the CIA is doing that the DCI
simply does not want to know about so he can stay clean when appearing before
congress. If he doesn't know about it he can't lie about it. The intelligence
agencies seem to run in 10 year cycles of wrongdoing, getting caught, cleaning
up their act, and then slipping into wrongdoing again. For all practical
purposes you cannot believe anything the gvt says anymore.

Amie Michel's Straight line theory turned out to be basically reading something
into the data that wasn't there. The same answeres could be developed by
randomly generating "sighting" locations as by plotting real sightings. Plus
there was some selective inclusion/exclusion of data.

Hmm, the video I saw looked about as fake as they come. You could even see the
tree branches had moved between the frames when the UFO "disappeared".

Paul, there is a book called "Anti-Gravity and the World Grid", edited by David
Hatcher Childress, that's all about these grid theories. It would be a good
starting off point to examine the material that's been published on "grids".
Personally I think a lot of these theories are pretty outre -- but some are
more persuasive and, just as important, there's evidence that governments think
some of these theories have merit. I'm speaking of the major US installations
at Pine Gap in Australia, among others. And rumors of bizarre tests and other
phenomena at these places.
The book is published by Adventures Unlimited Press, Box 22, Stelle, IL
60919. It contains excerpts from the writings of Bruce Cathie, Ivan Sanderson,
Tom Bearden, Tesla, and many, many more.
Perhaps the most interesting part is a step-by-step lesson in how to induce
anti-gravity. It works.

issues, the bulk of which is UFOs. THAT is MY dream.
A newsdesk every three hours...half-hour features on topics from Roswell to
Medjugorge to Loch Ness...in-depth interviews...feature films, such as "The Day
the Earth Stood Still," "Sybil", "ET", and of course, "UFO's Are Real"...
panel discussions...talk shows...and most important, a weekly "ambush
journalism" show, ala 60 minutes, wherein we spring hidden cameras on the likes
of Mr. Ed, Bill Cooper, etc.
Did you think we were satisfied with a mere computer network? But, now that
I've told you my dream, its only a matter of time before Ted Turner hears about
it....

Ea, there is no shortage of information on these topics. Quite the opposite in
fact; the real problem would be boiling down all the information and the daily
- yes, DAILY! - occurences of "paranormal" phenomena into TV-audience-
digestible chunks.

Paul,
I see it now. These guys (i.e. Lear, Cooper) are people who at one
time or another, we (as people interested in UFO's) took fairly
seriously. Well... my opinion is: They meant to do that... then
are now meaning to allow themselves to be discredited to put a
larger dent in the debunking and undermining of serious ufologists.
One possibility...? We'll know for sure if Lear starts screwing up
like Cooper in the near future.

There are areas in which magnetic north isn't the same as true
north, but these are caused by geological features. Also, a large
metallic deposit can cause skewed or increased magnetism. FWIW.

Sitting over here near the right coast, I feel left out of a lot
of these radio and television programs, and I feel that they
would be of great interest to the members of the Rochester UFO

once waited 30 minutes for an elevator there. Why didn't I walk down? I was on

Holy implants, Batman. You mean to tell me that Lear admitted that the Krill
stuff was "dreamed up"? I didn't know he had that much to do with it, I thought
it was all John Grace.
Sadly, I doubt this will have much effect on the Cooperites. He has become a
religion unto himself, and religious figures can do no wrong in their
followers' eyes. They'll find some way to justify his actions. Besides, we
already proved a long time ago that Cooper lies through his teeth, and no one
outside of ParaNet paid much attention.
How are you receiving the reports in LA, by the way?

I happened to read a small blurb about water engines... I'm afraid
I can't remember where I read it, but it was in a major publication,
perhaps Popular Science or maybe even Newsweek. It was a short article
explaining that Yes, there are water engines that apparently extract
the hydrogen to use as fuel, but the main problems now are that a "gas"
tank will only hold enough for a 75 mile trip, and the hydrogen itself
is very dangerous to handle in the engine. If I happen to find the
publication, I'll post a reference. (Anyone else seen this article?)

Howdy. Glad to be back. I have not received it from Denver. I
do know that it is there, but I cannot do much right now until
after next week when I get moved into my new home permanently. I
will let you know what is going on probably by Wednesday.

Prostitution is legal in the State of Nevada, however not legal
within the limits of Clark County which covers a very large
portion of the populated areas in and around Las Vegas. The
famous brothels are located way outside the limits of the city.
Clark County takes a very firm stand against prostitution in
their borders and apparently this is the problem that the
so-called "prostitution ring" that Lazar was involved with got
into so much trouble.
