Hello All,

I recently had a chance to talk to Richard Murray from San Diego. Hearing
about him from the Billy Goodman Show I gave him a call a few days back (Feb.
6th) hoping he could expound on his work with a Congressional Amnesty type
project. Regretfully, I did not tape the conversation but I gave what I think
is a pretty faithful representation of his work in a recent edition of our locl
MassMufon newsletter:

---
Another effort in the direction of Congressional Amnesty. Richard Murray
has been attracting some serious attention from U.S. senators and "other
officials"
such as two Superior Court Attorneys. Writing letters to Congress-
ional/government authorities Mr. Murray has received some intriguing evidence
to support the governmental drug smuggling/UFO connection. I have only spoken
to Mr. Murray once but by what I've been able to summize, there is document-
ation from files obtained through the FOIA which, when compiled, imply that
funds for many of the top secret UFO projects have been garnered through drug
smuggling initiated by none other than our famed President George Bush. It
seems in 1948 when Mr. Bush was head of the CIA he ordered key segments of the
oil industry (including oil tankers) to be used in the transportation of drugs
to the United States. At the time they weren't aware of the multi-billion
dollar "business" they were instigating. I believe this to be an accurate
reproduction of Mr. Murray's proposed scenario.

Mr. Murray also mentions that the recent book by Barbara Horriger(sp?),
"October Surprise" which details the Iran Hostage situation, is a must read.
He mentions that he has evidence pointing to the usage of an "anti-gravity
disc"
having been employed in the rescue attempt of the American hostages in
Iran. He also mentions that he supports Bill Cooper's statements. Having had a chance to show Cooper's statements to certain key members of the NSA, etc.
they, according to Murray, said that he (Cooper) was right on target.

Mr. Murray states that he has approximately 500 independent letters in
support of his claims. He has sunk alot of his own money into this effort
and the project is hurting financially. Though he encourages donations I
get a *strong* feeling he's not trying to make any money off this. He scoffed
a bit at Bill Moore and Stanton Friedman when I mentioned my affiliation with
Mufon. At any rate he is determined to take this to the government in a big
way. He has put together a package of letters which can be copied and sent to
State and Federal representatives. The replies to the letters, he states, will
definitely help one come to an understanding of the situation. The understanding will be arrived at independently but will be in agreement with what he feels
is a tragic worldwide situation. He asks that people send him copies of any
responses/info. they receive so he can organize it and make it part of a
presentation.

This does not sound like another philosophical crackpot but rather an honest
attempt to uncover the "clear intent" of the powers that be. Having only
spoken to Richard Murray last night, February 6th, I'm not sure what to make
of this but I'll keep the group informed of any findings. You can send for
information:
Richard Murray
3368 Governor Dr.
Suite F336
San Diego, Cal. 92112
(619) 296-0955
If you enclose $2.50 (to cover printing and postage costs) Mr. Murray will send
you the package discussed. He mentions he has about a thousand of them left.

----

If anyone has any information on Mr. Murray and his effort please speak up.

Take care,

Actually I have been thinking about this all day and I got a copy of "In
Search of Schrodinger's Cat"
.

One aspect I find interesting about this infinite interpenetration is it would
seem to lend some credence to the beliefs of cultures and/or religions that say
people, the Earth, plants, animals etc. are related or connected somehow. The
Buddha's Nirvana (as I understand it) was an achievement of "oneness" with the
universe, where everything came together.

North and South American civilizations had animal totems which were tribe
symbols and servants of the tribe. For instance a man could see through the
eyes of his totem which may be an eagle or a bear.

And of course there's the Star Wars movies where the Force penetrated
everything. It would also serve as a good retort when an astrologer is asked
how astrology works: "Quantum mechanics, of course!"

QM is very interesting!! Thanks for enlightening me.

This is from the 2/5/90 issue of _The New Yorker_, p. 34, in an
article about Alan Abel, a practical joker/prankster:

"Mr. Abel would also like to take credit fo the aliens in Russia last
summer. He claims he had been sitting around in the caboose [his
office in his back yard] worrying that they didn't have any fun in
Russia, and that there had never been a U.F.O. spotted there, so he
sent detailed plans for a spaceship and aliens to a couple of Russians
he had listed in his hoax-lovers Rolodex."

As for the [?], this meant that I was unable to read the
character on the document. Anywhere that the brackets appeared,
I was commenting about the legibility.

One other comment regarding the Copyright posted by someone else
regarding FOIA documents, I have a file that I append to all the
material that is generated on ParaNet. It is copyrighted unless
it does not apply to ParaNet. Kind of a shotgun approach, but
nevertheless, it clearly identifies where the work was generated.

Subject: Reich

Jim: Bookburning is deservedly emotional issue. Too me it
implies more than the public and largely symbolic destruction
of a few copies of an author's work. It also means proscription
of publication, removal from library shelves and book stores,
penalties for private possession and persecution of the author.
In this strong sense, Reich was not a a victim of bookburning.
As I understand his case, a small number of copies of some
of his publications were seized along with a number Orgone
Energy Accumulators and destroyed. Reich was convicted of
violating a court order prohibiting the interstate shipment
of what the FDA considered a fraudulent medical device.
I don't condone the government's action in
destroying his writings, but I am not sympathetic
to promoters of worthless medical devices or treatments,
regardless of the sincerity of the practitioner.
It is a very sad case as Reich showed symptoms of paranoia
(grandiosity, persecution, etc.) and he did have very real
adversaries thoughout his life.
The actual destruction of a few copies of his books is
a comparatively minor issue in the case, but a very
emotional one. As I said before, I had no trouble finding his
books in the Stanford University Medical School Library
during my undergraduate days. To my knowledge, none of
his books are unavailable in the US.
Having seen students asking for the dismissal and
death of a faculty author (Jensen at UCB) and the Shiite
leadership asking for Rushdie's death and being defended by
certain professors, I think Reich got off easy. If he hadn't
died of a heart atack in jail on the contempt charge,
I have little doubt that he would have eventually gotten
satisfaction on the book issue. Does anybody know what the
ACLU did at this time? --- John.

Gene: I think you were referring to the hydrocephalic English
math student with the big head and no "brain." The article
was entitled "Is the Brain Really Necessary?" The
authors speculated that perhaps math doesn't really
require higher brain functions and that the student
may eventually run out of memory capacity.
Of course, many hydrocephalics are severely
handicapped and become vegetative. My social worker
friends have told me that formerly in some hospitals
women of childbearing age were not allowed to work
with them in fear the sight would discourage them from
ever getting pregnant.
As for your being a third generation writer,
I'm sure it was largely your environment and secondarily
your genetics. M-fields, hah! I was interested in seeing
your reference to a work co-authored by Sheldrake and
Bohm. As far as I can tell, S is taken much more seriously
in England than in North America Conversely, creationism
seems to be more popular in the US. --- John

Marcello Truzzi was on A Current Affair? He is one of the few skeptics I
have a lot of respect for. He was one of those who broke off from CSICOP
after the Gauquelin affair, and has been harshly critical of them ever
since. He seems willing to maintain an attitude of cautious curiosity
about these things. Wish I'd seen that d*mn show.

So his books WERE destroyed. What was the justification given for this

How could a judge order Reich's books destroyed? That's completely
illegal! All through the Fifties, you could still read Mein Kampf or
"What is to be Done" (Lenin) at the library! (The FBI would probably
persuade the librarian to rat on you, but you could obtain the books).

Is this stuff about Reich's books true?

Also, re: Reich, it's probably just as well that he passed away before
his followers & disciples started showing the cancerous effects of
radiation poisoning from the Uranium Reich was messing around with.

Best,
Clark

My apologies to all who have sent videotapes and have not
received them. One of my prize VCRs went south for a short time.
Jammed the darn loading mechanism and broke a gear. Repairs are
underway and will be back in business soon. Your patience is
tremendously appreciated.
