Whoa. Can you quote a source?

"I mean, dollars are so MESSY" etc.
Agreed. More important (or at least more immediate) than China,
however, are the latest developments in Panama! Let's see a show of
hands on whether or not Bush will allow Manuel to live, considering his
great knowledge of Bush's dealings in drugs while head of the CIA? Any
opinions (and that's all they CAN be for now) on why he walked out of
the Vatican Embassy? Interesting stuff, that!

My guess is that Bush is gambling that no one will believe Noriega
about anything. My guess is that his gamble will pay off.

I have a perhaps different theory than you, and that is that I surmise
that the Aliens, if they are indeed such, are just giving a lolipop to
the pesky kid in the neighborhood to keep him from sticking his nose in
where they dont want to have to bother with him. They probably gave him
(read the various major military powers) a few of their old obsolete
craft to "play" with, to keep those same military powers out of their
hair so to speak. I am comparing the Aliens coming amongst us, with an
adult walking into a pre-school play yard with hands full of candy and
toys. The pre-school kids would be all over that adult to get a "piece of
the action"
. So, let's assume that the Aliens wanted to make use of our
planet for a base or way-station between point A and point B, and so just
gave the trinkets to the "kiddies" to keep us out of their hair. Then
the various governments would do flip flops to be co-operative about
keeping their various populations away from the Alien areas of interest,
and with their usual penchant for over zealous security measures, keep as
much of it from the people as possible. Enter the Aliens again.... They
decide that they want to quit pussy footing around, and want to be
straight forward with the Earthlings in general. To avoid panic, the
government sends someone like Lazar to spread the word that the aliens
are benevolant beings, and we should not worry about them. If they were
so benevolent, they would have been more straight forward in the first
place.
There is still another possiblity about the disks. That they came from
Earth's own future, or from a different dimension. Note the 8 "Strange
Zones"
around the planet. (IE: The Bermuda Triangle). These could very
well be locations of the "Aliens" bases, or whoever they are. That there
are flying disks is not being disputed. That they may be eons ahead of us
in technology is not being disputed. But the intentions of the
"outsiders", wherever or when ever they came from certainly is. It would
certainly be nice if we didnt have to worry about ulterior motives, but I
certainly think we should. We dont know how they think, so how do we know
if we can trust them or not. On the other hand, perhaps they are so
powerful that the military has already given them Carte Blanc. I hope
that is not the case though. So, I suggest we listen to what is being
said, weigh all that we come across, and STILL be cautious, and
skeptical. The life of our planet may depend on it. I still remember
Kruschev banging his shoe on the desk at the UN saying that they would
bury the USA, from the inside, and I'm not completly convinced that THEY
have changed their goals. So, why should I believe in the supposed good
intentions of Aliens that I dont know anything about, except that they
dont come from here?

I like Lazar's "snappy" analogy using a rubber sheet to
explain time/space/gravity configuration as it has to do
with the flying saucer "drive systems" he purportedly
studied at S-4 near Area 51-Dreamland.
Here is a paraphrasing of what Lazar said on the "Billy
Goodman Happening"
.
Imagine that space is flat, a ONE DIMENSIONAL PLANE
UNTIL DISTORTED, and think of it as a flat rubber sheet!
Think of a flying saucer at one point on the rubber
sheet near Earth, and the saucer's destination Zeta-
Reticulae, as another point on the rubber sheet.
The saucer tilts in order to "point" its "gravity wave
amplifiers"
line-of-sight toward its destination (according
to Lazar, there cant be any other planetary bodies or stars
in the path between saucer and its destination), the rubber
sheet is distorted by stretching, just like the saucer
reached out with some pliers and got ahold of the spot it
wanted to go and pulled that spot all the way over to
itself, joined with it, and then let go of the pliers and
let the destination "snap" back to the point it emanated
from, taking the saucer with it!
Lazar implies that this system of travel works within a
galactic system, but doesn't know if it would work to bridge
the large gaps between galaxies. He saw no sleeping
arrangements or "galleys" aboard the craft he purportedly
looked into, so he speculates that travel between a point
like Zeta-Reticulae and Earth (about 37 light years OUR
TIME) would probably be a very short time like a day or so
for the craft to negotiate.
The "aliens" could just "brown bag it", pack a few
pickled beef tongues and a couple quarts of cow soup!
Reminds me of when my girlfriend put on some rubber underware one
time... But that's another story!

Keith:

Also a good discussion in Story, "UFOs and the Limits of Science."
(Sorry, don't have the publisher/date, but its at just about every
library.)

I have a lot of trouble with the Boiani sighting, mainly because of the
fact that the priest said he was waving at the aliens for a while, then
very calmly went inside and had dinner WHILE the UFO was still visible.
Me, I'd have been dialing 911 or something....

Ah. Now I know who YOU'VE been listening to, besides Lazar.

I will resist the urge to emit a hellacious horselaugh, since its a sure
bet you've never met Tracy, and simply don't know of what you speak. If
you are at all willing to take my word for it, forget any notion of
Tracy being a spook. It just doesn't wash.

Jim: Another suspicious facet of the Lazar case was his mentioning of
the fact that he saw reports of alien autopsies (photos included). I was
immediately reminded of Bill Cooper's claim to have seen the Grudge 13
report. Why, oh why, would Bob Lazar, a grunt physicist at S-4 (who
claims to have had such limited access to information) have seen alien
autopsies when they didn't even concern the specific work he was doing.
Again, it is important to note how all this "above top secret"
information is compartmentalized. Lazar's claim to have seen autopsy
reports just makes his story sound that much more suspicious.
