Sam,
I have talked with Linda Howe on a number of occasions and have
found that there have been numerous occasions where "strange lights" have
been observed prior, during and after a mutilation. The most
recent case where this occurred was in Ashdown, Arkansas. Prior
to the March 89 mutilations there of five cows, lights were
observed by several witnesses prior to the mutilation by about
four months. The most profound part of the Ashdown case's lights
were the similarity between them and a case which occurred here
in Colorado a few years ago. In both cases, a large light was
sighted hovering in the sky. The light would hover approx 1,000
- 5,000 feet and a small light would emerge from it. The small
light would come down to the ground and would eventually go back
up and rejoin the large light and would leave. In both cases,
the mysterious lights were photographed numerous times.

Not only why would they let a grunt physicist see the autopsy reports;
why would they have let an employee of less then a years standing even be
involved in the whole saucer business at all? Is it really likely that a
gvt that has managed to keep the lid on this for so long is going to hire
someone off the street, so to speak, and immediately ship them out to
work on the most super secret project in the world? There are so many
plot holes it wouldn't even make a good movie.

As a geneticist, I find the idea of Aliens' being able to interbreed with
humans unlikely, to say the least. I don't deny that Aliens might not want to
have sex with humans; humans sometimes do so with terrestrial animals, but
viable issue is another thing. The Biblical story of the "Son's of God" and
the "Daughters of Men" sounds very like an intertribal exogamous marriage custom
not dissimilar to those practiced today. In some areas women of one tribe
marry men of another ( and vice versa) so that the children grow up speaking
their mothers' language and later learn their fathers'. The "Giants" suggest
that the offspring were healthy and vigorous.
Humanity is about 200,000 years old with the major racial divisions estimated
at about 95,000 years before the present for the separation of African from
non-African populations and shorter time periods for the divergence of other
groups. Although all humans belong to the same species and can interbreed with
fully fertile offspring, there are already some partial fertility barriers due
to head size/birth canal and blood group incompatibilities between and within
major racial groups. Unless the Aliens were derived from human stock within the
last 200,000 or so years,
I can't seen how interfertility could have been maintained.
Detailed studies of the genetic control of developement of even simple
organisms such as nematode worms reveals numerous genetic interactions,
compensations, "kludges," etc. Genes simply don't control single traits, rather
they control rates of reactions and interactions which result in the observed
characteristics. The same gene can have different effects in different organisms
and even in different cells in the same body. Superficially similar structures
in distantly related organisms may have a very different genetic basis. A recipe
is a far better metaphor than a blueprint for the way genes determine organismic
form and function.
Alien organisms may not even use DNA or they may use DNA but have a different
genetic code. Cross species breeding rarely works even among closely related
animals-- horse/donkey hybrids are sterile, the kittens from wild and domestic
cats are inviable, and hamster eggs fertilized by human sperm do not develop at
all.
The metabolism of Aliens may be very different from ours, though it would
probably be based on Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Sulfur and Phosphorus
on chemical and cosmic abundance grounds. I just don't believe that we could be
a significant source of nourishment for them, contrary to claims allegedly made
by John Lear.
One could construct ad hoc arguments to "save the phenomenon" if one wished.
Perhaps some sort of creationism is true and all humanoids, terrestrial and
otherwise, are genetically compatible as they were specially created in God's
image. I'll believe this when I get tissue samples (sperm?).
It is possible, of course, that the "Greys" are descended from early humans.
Perhaps early humans were captured by other Aliens and Greys either evolved
naturally or were selectively bred and/or genetically engineered to be the
carriers of new desirable genetic traits.
Infusion of normal human genes might be desirable from time to time to prevent
speciation, but if Greys are superior, why bother with us normals at all? Why
introduce new genes into terrestrials when it would be quicker to replace us
with Greys, unless their intrinisc birthrate is low. If so, the hybrids might
inherit it as gene tranfer by natural methods (i.e., sex) is very much a
haphazard process, pleasing as it may be.
Still copulation and/or artificial insemination seem like inefficient method
for creatures with comprehensive knowledge of the human genetic system and the
possibilities inherent in it, as not all genetic changes would be compatible
with embryonic development. If the desired changes were relatively minor and
compatible with normal gestation, why not put the genes on a virus and infect
males (women have all their ova by birth and the quiescent cells might be hard
to infect).

NEC Corporation, a Japanese company has duplicated MAJOR
PORTIONS of the Pons-Fleischmann cold fusion experiment.
Thus showing what CLOSE MINDEDNESS and ignorant non
imaginative American scientists, funded by Pentagon death
money can do toward stifling creative thought.
There are several pewople in this net who are likewise
CLOSE MINDED and unimaginative when it comes to allowing new
ideas to flow in to displace old ideas. Edward Teller is the
single most close minded and evil influence in terms of
making sure that any scientific breakthroughs are controlled
in the sense that BIG BUSINESS can profit and mankind can go
screw itself. The military industrial complex, as Eisenhower
warned, has pretty well driven the United States into debt
and the dark ages. We are behind the rest of the world
in education, engineering, creativity, but ahead of the
world in innovative ways to kill large amounts of people
with deadly rays stunning chemicals, and infectious plagues!
Hooray America, keep it up, maybe we can eliminate the
rest of the planet single handed and at the same time corner
the market!

I don't think Bryon is aware of the trend of the other threads about this
(however, you are well aware that I am) since they came from outside of
ParaNet. It is interesting to see how this research into history effects those
who look into it.... And so I had advised Bryon to take the conversation to the
ET echo and hope that it can remain balanced. The *effect*, and way this
appears to lead people's thinking is worthy of consideration due to the
implications when conclusions are reached. For me, it sends a "signal of
warning" (shudder for humanity) and can't help but wonder if this is the same
type of feeling that moved Jews to leave Germany prior to the intensification
of the seige against them which brought Einstein and others to the States. The
problem is, "safe" places for future dispora will be exceedingly rare.
Inveriably, this "question" 9 times out of 10 leads to the Aryan situation and
the conflicts we saw.
Lear had introduced this issue in his LEAR.TXT file. Cooper, in his own way
begins definition by associating RH- people as being alien hybrids. I saw in
Cooper's remarks, moving the possibility from idle hypothesis, to directly
involving innocent people into his scenario by virtue of simply being born.
This, augmented with Steiger's writtings then absolutely defines in the minds
of many who grasp this information and believe it, that there is an abrasive
segment of society. This is a disturbing trend that is arrising out of this
that I have been following very closely. It appears we are working up towards
a Jihad as this information is processed by these various groups, and back in
May there was an intense effort of accumulating information about UFOlogy and
integrating it into the type of info we have seen from these previous posts.
<sigh>. We are now seeing the fruitage of this effort. My board was amazingly
targeted perhaps as a "trial run" durring the late summer/early fall of last
year. I was somewhat upset over the implications that were cast my way, but
dealt with it. I guess they thought I was something, and quickly discovered I
wasn't exactly what they thought I was (and there are some out there still
guessing! But those who know me best know) And it stopped as suddenly as it
started.
With Patrick Leight, we saw that he, being a "Christian" who claimed to have
inspiration directly from God was on a campaigne to determine just WHO these
could be, and struck out on a crusade on various New Age boards. Then, there
had been remarks about trying to find remains of a "giant" or offspring of
these legendary people to determine what they were geneticaly. One can only
wonder what one would do if such a thing was found, and if enough emotion is
aroused over it, what action would be taken to "correct" it. We are all aware
of what happened the last time someone decided what was the perfected man, and
what wasn't.
Bryon, however, has not taken this to the limits of Leight. So I am willing to
discuss it with him and in hopes we can avoid the fractured fairy tales that
seem to dominate this line of thought. As we should determine WHY this
information has the tendency to lead people into this direction.

Hello, T.S.! Can you cite a source for NEC's success? I know that after
the American Physics Society (name?) finished sandbagging Fleischmann/Pons
last summer, several member universities quietly admitted duplicating the
Cold Fusion experiment -- the interesting thing is that the reaction is
INTERMITTENT. It can sometimes go for weeks with absolutely no reaction and
then start up and melt its containment jar.
Clearly it's a random process that we don't understand at all. Worth noting
here that this random process is just what Fleischmann predicted. A
reaction occurring within a platinum lattice whenever the right elements are
in the right places!
I agree with you on Teller. You may not have seen the big article in the
N.Y. Times Science Section a couple of weeks back, but the "Father of the
H-Bomb" seems to have set the "birth" back by about a year due to his faulty
calculations, laziness (he only tolerated people who would simply DO his
calculations for him without telling him whether the idea was any good or
not), and political adeptness at getting rid of his competitors -- like
Oppenheimer.
Now that the research-grant whores have had their say about Fleischmann-Pons
(and assured continued funding for their present projects) -- AND now that
the Japanese seem to be publicizing what many research departments admitted
privately last fall (to try to get MORE funding from Uncle Sugar, of course)
-- we may see some movement on Cold Fusion.
This remarkable and almost totally non-understood process does seem to work,
although the mechanism is presently very elusive. If it is controllable and
sustainable (big "ifs"), and/or if it involves a radically different
conception of physics for its "trigger" (my own hunch), it could forever
change life on this planet.
So here's to Fleischmann & Pons! May they outlive Edward Teller and his
shoddy science and repulsive personal traits. And let's all raise a glass
to Robert Oppenheimer sometime -- a great and good man, who worked in a
frightening cause & remained true to himself and his goodness, right up
to his death. Consider: when the Yucca Flats bomb was detonated,
Oppenheimer quoted the Bhagvad Ghita (Shiva: "If the radiance of a
thousand suns were to burst once in the sky/It would be as the
splendour of the Might One/...Behold I am become Death/Destroyer of
Worlds.)
By contrast, it has been said that Teller drooled & ejaculated when the
H-Bomb went off.
By the way, one of the reasons I give Moore's book "The Philadelphia
Experiment" some credence is the material on Teller that came from the
interview with Dr. "Franklin Reno". The grotesque individual described by
the aged scientist (possibly Dr. Bethke? will we ever know?) was
unquestionably Teller.
Please let me know where you heard the NEC story.
Best,
Clark
