<chuckle>.... it was a remark due to the nature of content on ALL channels on my BBS these days! Different topics, but same "tone of voice"...

It's hard to do, isn't it.... to not be something you are not because of it. That is what I am talking about, and that seems to be one of the core problems that stem from all of this. And it is something that needs to be explored and discussed. And it is *very* difficult to get a calm and logical discussion going on about such things, without it creating some type of friction from somewhere, or very emotional remarks. My inquiry is sincere.

What is even more interesting is the "scenario" that has been built up here in the United States by Lear and Company in regards to the aliens themselves. The belief being spread around that the American aliens are the "bad guys" and that the Soviets have the "good guys" and they just *happen* to be the first to publicise a craft landing, that is hitting all of the network news stations... CNN said (5am today) it was a verified landing. Heard also that Paul Harvey got into the action. I wonder how people *really* feel about all of this.....

Well boys and girls, it would seem that we have an alien craft confirmed
landing on our hands......Or maybe not...With all the publicity this is
getting it is defientely going to stir plenty up, already the "Western"
skeptics are calling it a hoax, when in fact that probably dont have the
slightest idea what is going on. I personally hope that the story is
confirmed(as CNN states it to be.) since it would finally unravel all of
this.. The rocks found should prove to be very interesting, seeing as how
if they are completely confirmed that they are not of terrestial origin,
that would prove it enuff for me, the meteorite proposal that I have
heard, is all crap, how do you find a reasonable size meteor made of the
reddish stone that was found, along with no impact crater, and I highyl
doubt you just happen to find a meteroite in a park! Anyway, I'm keeping
my eyes peeled, and my ears open cuz I really want to get this thing out
in the open, or I hope it is takin legit here in the States, seeing as
how alien theory here in the U.S. is generally associated with little
green men from Mars...Yeah right...Anyway, see yaz..

Revealing conversations on the topic have taken place on CompuServe. The
news angle seems to be that this is an example of the new, post-glasnost
TASS. Having had all their censorship done for them in the past by the
Politburo, they have no experience in self-censorship, and so they see an
opportunity to sell newspapers with a "Veekly Vorld Noose" headline, and
journalistic credibility be damned, let's run a UFO story.
The real story, however, is the reaction from the American public. Its
stirred up the biggest row among the rank-and-file since the JAL 747
sighting over Alaska (which was another puzzler...sounded like a good story
to the inexperienced, but as far as we're concerned, ain't no big thang...)

Jon:
We have an unconfirmed report that the rocks turned out to be iron ore.
We hope the story is taken as legit, too...AFTER it is CONFIRMED to be
legit. CNN was NOT confirming the story, they were merely stating that TASS
called it a "confirmed" story. There's a big difference, I think you'll
agree.
