Hi Bryon.
Well having that degree of knowlege would certainly be handy,
you would b privy to all sorts of information, including information on
possible UFO sightings, stuff we'd never hear of.
Ah well, at least the kid's got a future, i'm sure NASA or the CIA
would just LOVE to have him in there decoding dept.'s ..

Getting the diagrams for Sat.Fax recieving wouldn't be hard, but the
pictures sent back ( ffrom the types of sats we've been talking about )
i'd have though would have been far to high in resolution for the
average EGA system, if you were really after detailed pictures (
weather you were looking for UFOs or not ) wouldnt a VGA or VEGA card
be necessary?

When you get it going, you would then have to work out the encryption
system, i'm sure there not going to send back pictures of either Space
or Russia in un-encoded form! Good luck if thats what your planning!
And if you are, you could probably expect a black car, with men wearing
suits, to give you a visit in the near future, unless your just after
nice pictures of Weather Fax's or interesting in seeing what Amature
Radio op's Fax each other..

Oh here it is, in Tucson: Welcome to UA Today Node #1:
The University of Arizona Alumni Association's Electronic Magazine.
Data: (602) 621-5669 300-9600 baud 24 hrs
I came accross it while tracing the Darkside BBS, which I did not
find. Supposedly Darkside has autopsy information, and supposedly it
is in St. Louis. It is not on the 8/15/89 Fido list for St.Louis.
Does anyone have the number of 300/4 in Tucson? That is where the

I don't doubt that a bit.

ParaNet Sysop's have consider the possibilities of just such a thing. Only
one line need be tapped to access all the information (with the eception of
private net mail between systems) for all the ParaNet echos.

If messages were read on a ParaNet system by someone using someone else's
name an password, true it would be marked received. If all messages were
tapped into while going over the line it would be very much like receiving a
radio transmission, no one else would know who got what. I know a man who
picks up the UPI news and weather direct from Satellite, but who else would
know that he was able to do this ? There is no way for it to be traced, or
for it to be known that he is able to pick up all those things. If our
messages were picked up over a phone tap type system no one would have any
idea who had them or just what they had. The messages would not be marked
received or anything.

Hehe.. well hello, I didn't see the message you mentioned, but then I had
some system malfunctions for two days straight not long ago and lost a stack
of messages, still don't know what went wrong.

Actually it doesn't show me anything about who makes up this system, and I
don't call Compuserve because I'm not rich, and I hate 300 baud connections,
and I don't like to pay extra for using higher baud rates, so I use Delphi.

I get the idea though that I missed out on something that took place on
Compuserve, from the sound of it I might be glad I did. :-)

What case at Eastlake ? Do we have a file on that one that I have not
gotten to yet ? I'll take another look, I have some that I have yet to
unpack. Where is Eastlake anyway ? What information can we get on that ?

Must have been some case, I don't recall any such thing in the past.

You would have a hard time grouping everyone who reads these echos into that
category, there are a few of us who have other things to do from time to
time and might take us a week to get back to the messages. Like right now I
must go eat and then go to the doctor's office, I hate being sick, but I am
on the way to recovery. Still things like that tend to prevent one from
reading all the messages at times.

Care to tell us what has your feathers ruffed up ?

I should think you would be right about that. Donnie's system is just a
little CoCo 3 but the program allows the data to overlap the page by about
three screens If I remember right. Which allows you to view high res.
pictures a section at a time. The print out is length ways on a standard
size printer and also allows higher resolution than a normal video screen.

If I had to bet on it I would say all military information of that nature
would be encrypted.

I hardly have the equipment or the time to try to figure out that kind of a
task.. :-) It's all I can do to keep up with ParaNet, and my BBS, along
with the other things I have to do around here.. hehe.
