Linda:
Pine Gap, like all NORAD bases are so secretive that you could
say anything about them. But I would still like to have alook at
what goes on.

Many years ago I did read his theories on the UFO double grid round
the planet giving a 3 dinentional perspective if earth. I have not
read anything else and it does sound very interesting. I would
cetainly like to know more.

Did you see the NZ file "Quiet Earth" it sounds like the story was
taken from a lot of what you have just reflected on.

Mike asked for a brief introduction from each subscriber. This is
mine.

My name is Stephen Helmreich. I'm a computer researcher at the
Computing Research Lab at New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, NM.
I'm also working on a Ph.D. dissertation in linguistics, through the
University of Illinois.

I subscribed primarily out of sheer curiosity. I have had no
experiences with UFOs nor do I know many people who have seen them. I
have, however, always been interested in science fiction and weird
kinds of things. Ripley's _Believe It or Not_ was my favorite comic
when I was growing up.

I suppose my interest now is more in the area of the psychological
aspects of this subject. I read J. Vallee's books several years ago
and was impressed with the correlations between current UFO
descriptions and accounts that occurred much earlier (the space blimps
in turn-of-the-century Texas, the "little people", etc.).

I'm also interested in the psychology of religion, and, in particular,
how people can "talk" about things that, almost by their nature,
cannot be shared with someone else. I'm also interested in the
way evidence is weighed, decisions are made, and beliefs established.
(I subscribed to sci.physics.fusion for the same reason.)

From what I understand, Bennowitz suffered a mental collapse, and William
Moore observed this. (William Moore created quite a stir at the MUFON
conference according to those who attended it). Details about Bennowitz, and
his demise can be found in Moore's presentation, "FOCUS", Volume 4 (New Series)
: Issues 4-5-6 June 30, 1989. It is 20 pages long, and is $10.00. Address is
4219 W. Olive Ave. Suite 247, Burbank, California 91505.

Bearden, is/was part of the USPA, some group that designs and builds
psychotronic devices. (U.S. Psychotronics Association, Inc.) [for those who
don't know -- psychotronic devices are devices that are designed to "amplify"
psychic energies]. Bearden, at least in 1984, had "friends like Alexander and
Rauscher have got Bearden access to the Pentegon since his retirement." [once
again, a quote from McRae].

What concerns me, is the addictive qualities of particular psychotronic
devices. This was noted by Persinger, and researchers back in the 70's. It
seems that if the "aliens" are responsible for the abductee experience, using
a technology similar to these devices, it would account for the eventual
"submission". There are some anamolies in all of this that need to be looked
into. I can't do much here, in the middle of the desert (the only thing I miss
about "Big City Life" are those super-structured multi-storied libraries!),
but the info I left you on Alpha should put you on the right track.
