9/08/89 : 6:06 pm I received a call from Claire this morning at
approximately 8:30 A.M. She received my telephone number from her
sister who got it out of the UFO Magazine. She indicated that she had
had numerous sightings of a UFO over the Durango area where she lives
and was concerned that it was due to air traffic from the airport. I
told her that I would contact Denver Center and then get back in touch
with her to take the report.
I contacted Wayne Smith, the manager of Denver Center Air
Traffic Control in Longmont, Colorado by phoning 1-776-4100. I asked
him if he could assist me with determing flight paths over the Durango
area. He told me that he could not, however he would put me in touch
with someone who could. I then received a call from Scott Turner who
told me that he is the manager of that Sector of Colorado. I explained
to him that I had received a report regarding unusually high amounts of
air traffic over that area. He explained to me that there had not been
any increase in traffic; as a matter of fact, there was less. The only
time that there would be more traffic would have been during unusual
weather conditions, which there had been, and this might make it look
like there was more traffic, but not enough to justify a complaint of
this nature. I thanked him and the conversation ended.
I then contacted Ms. Witness at approximately 5:00 P.M. and
had her explain what had been taking place. Part of the conversation
was taped without her knowledge. She began explaining the events that
took place during the nights of August 25th and August 26th, 1989.
During this time, her son, Eric, 17 years old, and herself, 40 years
old and divorced for 4 years, witnessed a light hovering over the La
Plata mountain peak. At first, they thought it was the planet Venus,
however it began to move to the west toward the Mesa Verde National
Park which is approximately 5 miles "as the crow flies" from their
house. As it approached the park area, it stopped and reversed its
direction. As it approached the peak it stopped and hovered
momentarily. Then it began to move up then down, then up again and
hovered. She described its motion as if it were making the letter "N".
It then moved toward the park area again. At this point, her son
noticed a light moving toward the first object from the south. When
they came to close proximity to each other, there appeared to be a beam
of light emitting from each object to the other. The beam was
described as being white and hazy looking. Then the two objects
appeared to merge into each other. During and after this time, both
witnesses noticed several lights, up to 12 in the sky performing
various manuevers. The activity seemed to be restricted to the
previously mentioned areas. The witness also stated that the park
ranger for the Ute Indian Reservation might have seen these objects
too. At approximately 10:30, the witnesses observed an object come out
of the east very slowly and move toward their location. At this same
time, they noticed a couple of people riding horses down the road. It

was very dark and the sky was clear. They knew that the people were on
the roadway only by sound as they heard them talking and the sound of
the horses hoofs walking down the road. The object approached the area
and flew in almost directly over them at approximately an altitude of
500 feet. They are not sure if the people on the roadway saw it or
not, however they did note that the talking ceased and they could no
longer hear them. They could see that the object was approximately 30
feet in diameter. She could not determine thickness or see the top of
the object. The object had "many lights" on its underside. The lights
were described as clusters of white lights contained within red and
green lights. There was no sound or disturbance to the area. At the
moment that the object seemed to stop and hover, the lights went out
and it was no longer visible. The witnesses did not see it leave the
area. After this, the witness claims that she had a strange feeling.
She felt exhausted and could not get warm, although she claims that she
did sleep exceptionally well that evening. She stated that her son
also noted that he did not feel too well. She does not feel as if she
has had any missing time, however she does claim that there has been
some type of 'psychic' messages received in the way of impressions that
she has had in her mind. She also related an incident that took place
over a year ago that started in a drug store in which her vision and
hearing became suddenly very acute. She had the feeling that she was
going to pass out and immediately left the store and managed to get
home. Later, she consulted with a psychotherapist about this problem
and was told that she might have a problem called 'kundolini'. I have
never heard of this before, but it is related to certain aspects of
paranormal anomalies. I asked her if she had had a physical by a
medical doctor and she replied that she had not. She mentioned that
she has learned to deal with this problem and that it is still ongoing.
She was in a very distressed souding state on the phone with
me. She was very grateful that I had called her back and that she had
someone to talk to about this problem. She mentioned that she
subscribes to a newsletter produced by someone local to her regarding
paranormal experiences, however she stated that she did not find much
relief in this. She has made acquaintance with a woman who claims an
ongoing involvement with aliens and this other woman claims tha the
aliens continue to visit her. Ms. Witness made the remark that she
thinks that this lady is 'crazy' and she cannot find much truth in this
woman's claims.
Ms. Witness made reference to having some other unusual
experiences while living in Salt Lake City, Utah, however they were
mostly in the form of sightings of UFOs. She is a vegetarian and makes
reference to perhaps a religious basis for this behavior.
I contacted Ethan Rich of MUFON and discussed this case with
him. Before doing so, I asked Ms. Witness if she would mind me doing
this so that further investigation could be done. At first she was

very reluctant to agree to this explaining to me that she had heard
that MUFON had been 'infiltrated' by government agents and she was
afraid of this type of involvement. Nevertheless, she agreed to this
and I made the contact. I explained the points of the conversation
with Ethan. He agreed that he would contact her and Frank Magnus, who
is the State Section Director in this area. Ethan contacted Ms.
Witness and called me back immediately following his conversation with
her. Ethan stated that he was very concerned that something might be
going on and he told me that he was going to forward this thing through
the channels and he would keep me posted.
The conversation with Ms. Witness was recorded and there
are notes that were made covering the conversation that was not taped.
The taping began about midway into the conversation.

Paul Bennewitz can be talked to on the phone at Thunder Scientific, as I
had a long conversation with him a month ago. His secretaries et al, are
like any good secretary and filter his calls! He is there most of the
time, time, but speaks in a low mumbling manner that makes him hard to
understand. Its obvious that the damage done to him by the "handling" of
Moore and his "associates" was deleterious to Paul's health.
The reason for Moore's "associates" to handle Bennewitz is what needs
to be appraised. Bennewitz is used up, but the original thing that he was
attracted to, remains active.

there is a file here at Nexus that's called GWEN, Ground Wave Emergency
Network, that is informative. I also entered several files in different
nets about EMP and HERF (they were messages). I have to state for the
record, that all areas of research are being scrutinized for the
maintenance of communications DURING and AFTER a nuclear exchange.
Who's it with? The Russian{s naturally, they maintain 4,000,000,000 men
under arms, have more tanks, missiles, everything than we do, keeping
paranoia within our defense establishment at an all time high.
EVERY DAY, we run the third world war on our super computers,
winnability has to do with knowing where ALL of the opponents submarines
are, where the missiles are, etc. in order to try to "contain" the damage
done if someone pushed a button by "mistake" and they could'nt destroy in
flight.
Sorry, above should be 4,000,000 men-- At any rate, if the time comes
when our military strategists, and the super computers agree that we know
where "most" of the damaging moveable Russian hardware is, WE ARE GOING
TO FIRST STRIKE! I know its not the American way, but they will explain
it away by saying that it was a rogue submarine commander who fired all
his missiles, and then to prevent massive retaliation, we had to let
loose the rest of our arsenal. You probably dont take this seriously, but
there wont be a way to tell you "I told you so" afterwards!!! Just dont
look towards the bright lights, because the Russians will undoubtedly
sneak a few hits in.

Can you give us more of a report on what he is doing now? It would be
interesting to know more of his side of this story.

Speaking of a nuclear exchange....As we know, UFOs have penetrated highly
restricted portions of military bases. We also know, according to a report
that was entered in Clear Intent regarding an incident at Malmstrom AFB in
the Dakotas that involved the penetration of a remote missile silo.
According to the report, there was an alarm that indicated that someone had
entered the facility and was actually around the warhead. After the
incident, the onboard missile computer was removed and was found to have the
launch codes changed. In this type of scenario, has anyone ever wondered
about the possibility of a third world war being started by UFO activity?
I have word that there have actually been close calls involving SAC and
NORAD that could be attributed to this type of activity. With this in mind,
one must ask the question 'Is our defense system adequately prepared to deal
with this problem?' This could be a major problem that could usher in the
'nuclear winter.'

The BBS is called "The Little Shop Of Horrors", shouldnt be hard to
find in the list!
Wow would i like to know what the system was the kid devised to decode
the sat signals. Imagine the goodies he was privy too.. Like i dont
much care to know about whats happening in Russia, or any of the other
info like that that may come out of some of these sats ( well, i guess
it would be interesting.. ) , but the ability to decode picture
information would be revealing. Must have been some smart kid, there
are so many ways a signal could be encoded!
I wonder if the kid got to keep his decoding equipment? Probably not, i
guess they'd make sure that it, and any similar equipment as well as
his notes were all taken, but then some people have a knack for
remembering things .. I'd sure like to see under his hat though :)
I've got a circuit for decoding Sat Weather Fax pictures, maybe we
could modify it to recieve those Military Sat Pictures !!! We'll ask
the kid what system the Military use, although the circuit ihave is
only for B&W !! If it doesnt work, well, we'll have a nifty weather fax
reciever hey.. :)
I guess we could poke fun and joke about doing it, but i bet some smart
person has, or is on the way to, doing just what we said...
