Subject: REQ: Information on REAL-TIME IMAGE PROCESSING HARDWARE

Hi folks,

Our research group is currently developing image processing systems.
In order not to re-invent the wheel we are looking for existing
hardware solutions (boards and/or processors) for REAL-TIME image
processing.

If anyone out there knows, uses, or produces any of the
state-of-the-art products (name, producer, features, speed), please
e-mail.

[ Please post your answers to the List. phil... ]

Thanks

Subject: Corner feature detection.

I am doing some work into tracking of human body parts. I would like to
do some feature extraction from the images I have generated. One such
feature is corners. Could anybody supply me with some C/C++ (or even
pseudo code or any other high level language, methodology) that could be
used to extract corner features from grey scale images. I have plenty of
papers but they are short on implementation.

Thanks in advance.

I'm missing volumes 1 and 2 of the Int. J. of Compter Vision,
(1987-1988). Does anyone happen to have these volumes but no longer
need them?

Thanks in advance.

Subject: Texture Recognition

I am an Undergraduate Student at The University of Birmingham in the
UK. Recently I was asked to conduct a small research project into one
of the applications of neural networks. I chose to research and build
a net that would recognise textures. The textures will be supplied to
the net, using a bitmap file format, and will not be textures more
sort of lined patterns. I wish the network to be able to recognise
generic patterns in the bitmap files such as horizontal lines,
vertical lines and stippled patterns. If anybody has any suugestions
as to how to construct the network so that it can generalize, or has
any ideads for practical applications please mail me at the following
address :-

jzh@cs.bham.ac.uk

Any ideads, thoughts or even speculations will be gratefully recieved.
Thanks.

Subject: Views wanted

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any views on a particular topic I was thinking of tackling for
a research topic :

"Some theories of vision are overtly computational, while others
employ concepts which appear to defy implementation on a computer.
By considering the successes and failures of
these different approaches in describing the observed properties
of visual perception, and any other relevant theoretical
arguments, assess how far you consider the digital
computer to be an adequate model of the visual perceiver."

Any idea's will be appreciated, preferably by e-mail but otherwise to the group.

Many thanks,
Andi Cowell

Hi..

I have a requirement to extract range information (3D) from stereo
camera pair.

What research has been done in this topic, and any products
available that would achieve this. ??

Any help and/or lead would be very much appreciated.
