MODELLING THE PROPERTIES OF IMAGE SEGMENTATION TECHNIQUES

As part of my PhD on crainial image segmentation I am interested in
modelling the properties of various image segmentation techniques (eg
edge detectors, region growers etc) in order to be able to reason or
select the best segmentation strategy for detecting a particular
anatomical structure within an image given that some of the properties
of that structure and those surrounding it can be predicted from an
anatomical model.

Unfortunately I have been unable to discover many publications which
discuss the problems of modelling the properties of segmentation
techniques either by mathematical equations of heuristic rules. If
anybody knows of any research which has been done into this topic I
would be very grateful if they could email me with more details.

Thanks in advance,

Dear friends,

I am working on the texture based analysis of natural images.
I would like to get some textured SAR data for conducting the
experiments. Can anyone point out some FTP sites for SAR images ?
Please reply to me in the EMail ID,

Subject: Edge_tracking

A couple of days ago, I posted a note for an edge_detection
algorithm. I have been asked for an explanation of what I want
to do. It is as follows:
I have digitized images of gas-liquid flow, with high
rates of gas entrainment in the liquid, which can be seen as white
bubbles of various shapes and sizes. I would like to click on one
spot on the circumference of the bubble, and have the program
trace out the whole contour and give me the x-y coordinates of the
points on the boundary.
My images are RGB type images, and I would like the algo-
rithm to be able to work with such images.
Thank you.

Subject: Vision Algorithms

Any one knew about books, articles, journals or ftp sites where there
were description on most of the vision algorithms (basic, and advance)
that are implementable. I am across such books like :

Low, Adrian, (1991) "Introductory Computer Vision and
Image Processing", McGraw-Hill, London.

Ballard, D. H. and C. M. Brown (1982) "Computer Vision",
Prentice Hall, Englewood Cliffs. NJ.

The first book is type of information that I want but don't provide the
advance stuff. The second book did not explain the implementation
of advance algorithm in detail.

Subject: Porting digitized camera output into a CAD package

We have the following problem. Any experiences and/or solutions will be
appreciated. We want to do configuration management of the equipment in Air
Traffic Control facilities without manually producing drawings that can then be
read into a CAD package. The problem with manually producing drawings is that
it is labor intensive and, even if produced once, it is not likely that staff
will update the drawings as equipment changes.

The proposal is to take a snapshot of the equipment in an Air Traffic Control
facility e.g., workstations, display screens, printers etc., digitize it, and
put it into a CAD package (AutoCAD, Release 12, on a PC) for storage,
manipulation, playing "what if" games with the equipment (to determine before
equipment is replaced whether the new equipment will fit in the space), etc.

Some of the problems are solved. Others are not. We have a Cannon still video
camera to take pictures of the equipment. The output will be digitized.

Any information on how to port digitized camera output into AutoCAD release 12
so that the images can be stored, manipulated and modified - would be
appreciated.

Please reply to mwalker@mitre.org. Fax number is 703-883-1226.

Subject: Question about Combining Rule...

I am a Ph.D Course student of Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea.
Now, I am researching about handwritten numeral recognition and consistent
formed document recognition like credit card slip..
As a recognition method, I adapted more than three methods and combined results of each recognizer..
Bayesian Rule, Voting and Behavior Knowledge Space.
These are combining method which I know....

I want to know other research which is similar to my research.
And also I want to your advice about Combining Method...
