Subject: Colour aerial images needed

I am looking for digitised colour aerial images of scenes consisting
of forest, roads, urban area etc. It is to be used in a colour texture
approach for segmentation. Please reply directly to me. Thank you.

What is the fastest algorithm to match 2 sets of d-dimensional points?
Any references would be greatly appreciated...

Thank you and best wishes for a Happy New Year,

Subject: Know of any recent good books detailing vision algorithms?

I'm trying to compile a list of books that have nitty gritty implementation
details on algorithms used within the vision community. Books with lots
of detail, but which omit implementation details are also OK (e.g., Horn's
"Robot Vision" may fit into this category).

I will post the compilation to the List.

cheers,

Subject: i860 users and applications

Does anyone know of a discussion group for the i860 chip?s
I am looking to get background info on the Alacron board and the Portland
group software. Also, anyone using the DT Connect option, DT interface
board and a line-scanner CCD? I'd like to talk about applications.
Thanks for your interest.

Dear colleagues:

I am writing up a survey on the application of neural networks for
automatic visual inspection in industry and medical laboratories. I
am particularly interested in comparisons of neural network approaches
and traditional image processing techniques in terms of accuracy,
speed, and effort of implementation, of inspection systems.

I would be very grateful, if you could point me to some relevant references
and contribute your research in the area. Any comments on how to select
the comparison criteria are also welcome.

Thank you in advance!

Summary: Real-time eye tracking device by Ford??
Keywords: recognition, tracking, real-time

I saw a program on Art and Entertainment recently on "Cars in the Future"
or something like that. One of the segments describes the research done
by Ford to analyse early stages of fatigue while driving. The reasearch
uses a device mounted on the dashborad to analyse eyes of drivers. It
seems to me that the device is in fact tracking and performing analysis
on eyes in real-time. Unfortunately they did not describe the detail
mechanism behind it. I am just wondering if any of you know anything
about it or where I may be able to find more informaion on it. Thanks in
advance.

We are trying to age photographs of faces both forward and backwards
in time and are in literature search mode right now. If you know of
any articles or real systems on this topic, could you e-mail the reference
to this account? Thank you.

CAIA-92
The Eighth IEEE Conference on
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE for APPLICATIONS

March 2-6, 1992
Doubletree Hotel, Monterey, California

During the last seven years, the IEEE Computer Society's Conference on
Artificial Intelligence for Applications has established itself as a
key conference for business and technical people who want to keep up
on the fast-changing world of commercial AI. This year the eighth
annual CAIA will continue that tradition by providing a provocative
mix of introductory, intermediate and advanced talks, tutorials,
workshops, and panels. This year's conference will also feature a
special series of talks and panels on the various knowledge
representation standardization efforts that are underway in a variety
of organizations. Special plenary talks will be:

DR. MELVIN MONTEMERLO, NASA
AI Applications at NASA: Hindsight and Foresight

PROFESSOR RANDALL DAVIS, MIT
Software Patents and Copyrights: How Did We Get Into This Mess? And
How Do We Get Out?

PROFESSOR LOTFI ZADEH, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA
The Calculus of Fuzzy If-Then Rules and Its Application

For a complete copy of the text of the advance program, send email to
CAIA@CS.UMBC.EDU. A mail agent will immediately respond with the
program which describes the tutorials and workshops, lists all of the
invited talks, panels, and accepted papers, and includes information
of registration and housing.
