Braised Beef (Dutch Oven Version)
Ingredients:
- 3 pounds pot roast, cut into large cubes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp minced ginger
- 1 cup chopped yellow onion
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp cooking wine
- 3 Tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups broccoli, steamed
Instructions:
- Cut the pot roast into large cube-sized pieces.
- Marinate the beef with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of black pepper.
- Heat a Dutch oven over medium heat with 1 Tbsp of oil.
- Add 1 Tbsp of minced garlic, 1 Tbsp of minced ginger, and 1 cup of chopped yellow onion. Cook until fragrant.
- Add the marinated beef to the Dutch oven and sear until brown on each side.
- Add 2 Tbsp of soy sauce, 2 Tbsp of cooking wine, 3 Tbsp of rice vinegar, and 2 Tbsp of sugar to the beef. Mix well.
- Pour in 2 cups of water. Close the lid once it comes to a boil.
- Preheat the oven to 400˚F.
- Place the Dutch oven in the oven and cook for 1 hour. Stir the beef halfway through.
- Steam 2 cups of broccoli.
- Arrange the steamed broccoli in the base of serving bowls. Place the braised beef on top of the broccoli.
- Your Braised Beef is ready to be served!
